|
|
I've been listening to lots of different bands, metal and rock and thinking of dream combinations of bands - yup I have alot of free time. After my copy of Roger Glovers Butterfly Ball arrived after hearing Dio on the Deep Purple Live Symphony (I must say Dio sounds far better singing Love is All & Sitting in a Dream in '99 than '74 - he's got a much stronger voice now) album I started thinking of different Dio Line-ups. I know this topic may have occured but I have two suggestions, one eighties line-up (mainly 'cos I want to feature Cozy Powell) and one contemporary line-up.
My 80's line-up would be:
Dio - Vox
Cozy Powell - Drums
Bob Daisly - Bass
Rock Feinstein - Guitar
Micky Lee Soule - Pianno/Keyboards
(Yes I'm an Elf fan )
My contemporary line-up would be:
Dio - Vox
Bobby Rondinelli - Drums
Rudy Sarzo - Bass
Doug Aldrich - Guitar
Micky Lee Soule - Pianno/Keyboards
Not a huge difference in the contemporary line-up I know but I'm a fan of Doug's playing - the point where I'm considering buying the live (shudders at mere thought) whitesnake album with the new tracks and giving them a chance - though I'm not sure yet.
What are your line-ups??? |

| I'd like to have Doug Aldrich & Vinnie Appice. But the ones that are there now are fine. |

Me too, and Bob Daisley would be great aswell. Hows about Geoff Nicholls on keyboards? Perfectly possible, except for Doug but Craig would be just as good to be honest. Not that I don't like the current line-up though |

|

| The Dream line up is Ronnie, Craig, Simon, Rudy & Scott. That's the line up we got. The others like Doug and Vinnie have stabbed Ronnie in the back. Although I'm going 4 times on the Heaven and Hell tour I would much prefer to see THE DREAM TEAM. I can't wait for this Iommi cash generator tour to be over so Ronnie can get back to his proper job. Doug seems better in Whitesnake but they got Reb Beach playing back up to him is beyond me. In Dio Doug was out of his depth live although the Killing the Dragon album was good. When the new album comes out (soon I hope) Craig becomes Dio's No.1 guitar player. get used to it, Get over it. CRAIG is Ronnie's No.1 choice. NEIL |
