[quote="edgeoftheworld"]I'd like to see Ronnie work with Yngwie Malmsteen. I know that he has said in the past that Yngwie isn't a very "band" oriented person, but I think that they work great together. They did "Dream On," and that sounded better than the original in my opinion. But Yngwie is such a talented guitarist, and Ronnie is such a talented singer, I just am in love with this combination!

They worked fine together recording a cover song; I can't see them trying to write new music together. They'd both want to control the proceedings. |

| 2handband: Aldrich doesn't work well with another guitarist... in Whitesnake he completely elbows Reb Beach (who is if anything the better player) off to the side. That said I think Dio would probably do better with two guitars live. There's usually at least two guitars on the albums anyway. I just don't think Aldrich would be the right choice. |
I didn't know that about Aldrich. I do think that Goldy and Aldrich would make a good pairing but I'd also be interested in seeing the results of pairing Goldy with Rowen Robertson too.
I don't think the Rainbow material would benefit from two guitarists but alot of the Dio/Sabbath material would plus it would add a new dimension to the writing process and resulting material too.
As to referring Goldy, listening to him on Dream Evil, Magica, MOTM and seeing him live on youtube my estimation of him has sky rocketed, he is a very under-rated guitarist in my opinion and I'd rank him as Dio's (the band) best guitarist now. |

|
Ronnie Dio - Vocals
Vivian Campbell - Guitar
Claud Schnell - Keyboards
Vinnie Appice - Drums
Jimmie Bain - Bass
The original is still the best....everyone else would put their own 'flavors' in it and fk up the stew |
