expecting "New Guitar"?! Only forum I thought this'd fit in well.

I'm sticking to bass, so I've gotten a new bass, no idea what model it is. But I know it's made by Yamaha.

I'm not exactly a pro or beyond beginner yet but I've given it a test run or 2 to see how it sounds and how it delivers. It's fantastic so far. I'll link a video to my test run and the experts here can give their opinions on it too. Sounds cool.

The thing looks incredible. Hell of a feel too, different from my other bass guitar in many ways.

Well, by looking at it what do you think? http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=16471261 is the test run video I recorded.

only £206 btw, not bad.

That's the newer standard Yamaha. Don't know the model number but they are nice. This one has double humbucking pickups, though, so it's the upgraded version.
I've played bass for 30 years - I'd never want to play anything else in a band.
PS: I just bought a 500 watt Carvin bass amp, through Ebay. I love it!

I need a good amp to get going, I've started this rock school system and have been shoved at the bottom end at grade 1, I'm putting holy diver through as my music piece of choice, only song I can fully play.

I use a pick and have been playing for about 11 months now, not very good but have self learned advanced techniques such as hammer ons, pull offs, chords and slides ftw.

I get a full on lecture about trying not to slide but scale from note to note using my fingers. bad habbits. this bass really has opened another door for me to advance but I still got a huge ladder to climb if I want to get in a band someday.

next year I may just go full time music education at college.

you'll get there. Dont worry. Sometimes we get frustrated that things dont come to us fast enough, but if we take our time, and just work on the Technique the rest will fall into place.

Always strive to be the very Best

For bang for the buck, it's very hard to beat old Peavey 15" combo bass amps from the 80's. They are indestructible, loud, and you can get them for next to nothing (maybe $125?) through used paper, craigs list, and ebay.

instead of creating a new thread I'll up this one Smile

I'd like to share my happiness&joy because of new bass Smile I was saving up money for a long time to buy it! My friends and bandmates helped me much, too. And... it was the best Birthday gift - the dream of my life, Fender Precision American Deluxe which I ordered from the US, arrived to me. That was the day of my Birthday!

I called him Blondie. My bandmates say we're a wonderful couple! Mr. Green sounds really great - Fender is Fender Smile

Very cool. I have a couple Bass as well.
First, one I have had since 1978. It's a Mann (Ibanez) brand, big Jazz bass, still in great shape as well.

and this one, I picked up because it looked lonely. It's a early 1970, but kind of cool. Sorrento brand

More of a guitar player though

Good choice - Yamaha makes a great bass. Love the pictures of the other basses too! Cool
