I got myself a ticket for the masterful Heaven and Hell a few months back, and now I am looking forward to the gig. My appetite has been whetted by the Radio City DVD and I'm creaming myself about the prospect of "Computer God" at full volume.
The problem is, I live in Edinburgh, and need to use trains/buses to get home from Glasgow. I'm interested to know how long the sets have been for you (I only know how long H&H have played for from my bootlegs here, but have know idea about Lamb of God or Iced Earth) so I can judge whether I can get the last train/home. Doors open for the SECC gig at 7.
Can any fellow Sabs/H&H fans give me some guidance?
Also, who else is going to see Dio/Appice/Butler/Iommi in Glasgow? _________________

| I was at the Iron Maiden gig at the SECC last December and that finished near 11 pm BUT Maiden did 2 hours (after 2 support bands had been on). From seeing some of the other threads here H&H might just do one and a half hours which would mean a 1030ish finish. Difficult to tell. |

Thanks for the advice.
The last gig I was at (Tenacious D) finshed at about 11PM. I think this means I should be able to get a train as I got one after that gig. _________________

The last train is normally around 1130 pm...should give you enough time to get to out of there....I expect the show to be finished by 10.50pm.....make sure you drop into the forum when the UK tour starts in Newcastle I am sure some of members from Newcastle will let you know what time it finishes.
If there is a group of you going through....think about hiring a driver.
I will be at the Glasgow gig myself and would have given you a lift but I have got a full car.
You should have joined the forum sooner....
Welcome to the forum. |

Thanks Holymagica.

I cant wait for the gig n the SECC on tuesday.
My mate who was heading along with me has had to cancel so now I'm heading along alone (boo hiss!). If there are any folk heading and want to meet up for a few pints before then let me know. There ain't nothing better than a few warm up pints in the Hard Rock or Rufus before getting a taxi (or the train) down to the SECC.
Whatever happens should be a great gig. Cannae wait!!!!!! |

Thanks for the offer. I am doing pretty much the same as HM.
I'll be checking out (hopefully) the finest Chinese carryouts (Jimmy Chung's??) Glasgow has to offer, and sorting out teh lodgings.
But I will be making my way early to see the gig even if LOG are playing. _________________

10:50-11:00PM is roughly the time the gig finished but there's there was a traffic jam all through Newcastle centre, mind, good thing the Tyne Bridge wasn't shut.
the music started at 7PM with Iced Earth exploding in for 30-40 minutes, 10-20 minute interval then on came this Lamb of God crap, same case there and the gods stormed the stage at roughly 9PM.
Hope this helps.
btw, they did computer god, extreme performance from the lads. |

hax.
i'm guessing the UK setlist is pretty much the same as the other ones... Which is great because I love the Radio City gig.
Aw cream...
For your information Holymagica, if you see someone wearing a t-shirt like the guy on right:
It'll be me. _________________

Message to the Tartan Army of Sabbath fans!
Have a great time tonight...and remember in the latest edition of The Rough Guide to the World its says Scotland's biggest city has an alternative rock pedigree that few can match.
Glasgow's music scene is vociferous, rambunctious and utterly magnificent.
Tonight we will have to let Ronnie James Dio know just how much we have missed him....make plenty noise! |
