I think I got a little tearsky in the ol' eye tonight when I rented & watched Pick of Destiny tonight and saw my main man at the very beginning. Thank god someone besides myself thinks Ronnie James is the fucking KING of hard rock. I feel sorry for these young kids who think they know what metal is and they don't know Dio. WTF??
Anyway, yeah I've never signed up here, never joined the fan club or anything like that...just an old guy who thinks about the good old days when metal was fucking metal, and RJD ruled the world. (Not that he still doesn't of course)
If anybody can talk RJD into doing another tour of the US I'd REALLY appreciate it! I can't believe I missed the last round.  |

Man...who the hell is HEAVEN & HELL??? Is that the name of RJD's band now? Do they advertise under that name? Man.. .no wonder I missed the shows. I'm to old to follow anything but the DIO name.
If RJD is coming back in August I am there. |

Aww, he should have starred in it. But you know, for his movie debut, he did a great job. 
I guess they couldn't have had him in the movie more, he was sooooo good looking, that nobody would have cared about any of the other actors.

Ronnie and is old Sabbath mates are touring under the Heaven and Hell moniker because that bitch Sharon Osbournewould'nt let them use the name Black Sabbath even though the Dio brand of Sabbath was more sucessfull then her husbands. Not only that their selling out show after show I know the show in Ct was sold out infact the tour is going so good their coming back to CT Sept 7th and I will be at that one as well

Actually I was surprised how unwell he was looking in the film... not to ring any alarm bells but that's the worst I've ever seen him, seems the curse of age is really creeping up on him
doesn't effect his singing though! His role in the song he sings is flawless and really really enjoyable
Quite an enjoyable film if you appreciate Tenacious D that is!

| Movie was funny as hell but yes I think I only watched it because of the chance spotting of Dio and Tenacious D is in its own way awsome gotta love em .........I originall saw RJD with Black Sabbath as a teenager as well his solo tours several times I think younger fans are in for a treat If they are just now discovering Rainbow and RJD solo stuff as well as Sabbath the Dio yrs he's an awsome musician and really puts his heart and soul into a show as well his current solo band and as the rest of Heaven and Hell Line up Iommi ,Butler and Appice these guys are the foundations of metal music ......gotta love heavy music you can understand the lyrics and the mixing of the music with audable vocals unlike some of the music now more technology less communication and depth LLR&R Can't wait to see the show! |

Ronnie kicks out the pwns. He also appears in the DVD bonuses.
To be honest, the film was always going to be a bit skewed when all the sauce came out when Dio was introduced.

I dislike Sharon Osbourne too, but wasn't it ultimately Tony Iommi's decision? I think it probably had something to do with the original Sabbath still being together, and possibly with a future. Also, Iommi used to have all the rights to the Sabbath name, does Ozzy now own some of them?
And Dio Sabbath being more successful than Ozzy's? While I, like probably everyone else here, think that the Dio brand was better, it certainly wasn't and isn't more successful.

You are taking the piss if you think that Ozzy Sabs wasn't more successful in the long term than Dio Sabs.
Plus, having the band called Heaven and Hell reduces the possibility of any retards requesting Paranoid or whatnot.
