Obsolette is a metal band that my friend is in. He plays lead guitar. Now, I know Obsolette is only a local band, but they have a great sound that is worth listening to. A while ago they kinda disbanded, actually it was more of a haitus, but anyway, they're still around writing new tunes. I went to go see them practice, and they were awesome. Just to let people know, if ANYONE FOR ANY REASON is around the Hi-desert area in California, Obsolete is having a show in Barstow. Details for the show is on their page.

Just to let everyone know, Obsolette has posted a "new" song on their profile. The song is called "Roots Of Anger", and it's from their 2005 demo. Let me know what you think!

Big update! Obsolette is going back into the studio to record their first full-length album this Sunday.  I don't have all the details yet, but as soon as I find out from the band, I'll post them up here. In the meantime, if anyone wants to, their "slightly" older music is still up on their myspace profile, so check it out if you want. These guys have a lot of potential, and make great metal music. I'm just helping to spread the word.

I really like the main riff from ROOTS OF ANGER. It has some Cathedral - Iommi - Metallica elements, and it's really been in head for a while. I just can't leave it unnoticed: The singer may not be the second coming of James Hetfield, but at least he tries to do a good job behind the mike. Carry on, guys, all the best!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's just when I said "local" I meant that they haven't really broken out big yet, and they're still playing a handful of shows in our own small town, you know? |
