I voted for Heaven & Hell. I just love every song off this album and even though I love the others as well, this has to be my favorite.
Plus, "Heaven & Hell" the song sounds so awesome live, that I really can't even put it into words!!!

To me it's simple - Holy Diver.
Now previously up until a couple of days ago I might've said otherwise, but after listening to all three it became obvious to me that I'd rank them as follows -
1 - Holy Diver - not a weak track to be seen and combines the best elements of both previous bands is the natural progression of his work in Sabbath. It's also nice to see variety in the songs topics and structures. Plus this album features several of my fave Dio tracks - particularly Invisible, Shame on the Night and Caught in the Middile. 9.8/10
2 - Rainbow Risin - A strong album with excellent musicianship and vocal performances and loses out to Holy Diver by a hair. 9.5/10
3 - Heaven and Hell - Whilst there's no denying the quality of most of the tracks especially Lady Evil, Children of..., Lonely is the Word or Neon Nights what ruins this album for me is the filler that is Wishing Well and Walk Away. Whislt these aren't terrible songs they are simply sub-standard in comparison to the other tracks for me though it could be argued that other tracks are so good that they set a high bar to live up to. Still 9/10 for me as an album though. |

| Thank god Heaven & Hell is winning this thing. It beats out the other two no problem. As much as i love Holy Diver and Rising, Heaven and Hell is my favorite album of all time. Ronnie even said it was his favorite album, so why should i disagree? |

Heaven and Hell. It was new, different, upbeat, and... Well, it just kicked a lot of ass. I think it's heavier than Holy Diver and Rising, myself...
Though this is probably where I get myself into trouble when I say I liked Dehumanizer more than anything else... _________________ Black Sabbath RULES! \m/ |

I had to go for H & H, Sabbath is my favourite Dio fronted band and the title track is in my opinion the best song of all time. While Wishing Well is regarded by some as filler, I'd actually rather listen to it than Run With The Wolf. I suppose Holy Diver is the flawless album of the three, but I think the stuff on H & H is of a slightly better quality (the title track is a mere second best song of all time etc.), I'd stick all three in my top seven or so albums ever though, having three essential albums with three different bands makes Dio the greatest of all time. _________________ Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio |

I've always liked Dio's first two albums over anything else he's done-with Heaven and Hell & Mob Rules a close second.
for these three I would go
1-Holy Diver
2-Heaven and Hell
3-Rising
BTW-concerning "Wishing Well" being filler-I've always loved that song! Just remember that Paranoid was considered "filler" when it was originally written... |

I rank them all as good as one and other.
Granted, I didn't like all the material on Rising or Heaven & Hell, but the stuff I did like stood out so much I could forget the rest of the tracks.
Holy Diver, I've heard mentioned had not one weak track, it just screamed quality.
But I can't decide one. |

These three albums represent the cutting edge of Dio. The three critically acclaimed and fan-loved classic albums. I personally can't and won't put these masterpieces against each other, they are all so different, so magnificent and each of them is one of the jewels in the production of Dio and the respective bands.
No other rock vocalist/rock songwriter has a professional recording&performing career spanning 50 years, six different decades and THREE CLASSIC ROCK BANDS with numerous classic albums made with each of them and still keeps going strong at the peak of his power by making quality music and giving out quality studio&live performances. That's a combination not even the Metal God himself hasn't reached so far. Forget anyone else in this competition, Dio is the ultimate voice of rock and metal.
I consider this trio of albums as a triangular Dio-esque forcefield...The rainbow shining bright in one corner, the lights of heaven and the fires of hell blazing in one corner and the mighty dragon-spawn Murray waving his chains in one corner... _________________ HEAVY FUCKING METAL!!! |
