Don't think I've seen it mentioned on the forum that he's touring with Heaven and Hell in the fall (though it's on the front page of course.)

I'm excited!

Hopefully this will give him better exposure than just hitting fairgrounds.

Why has Alice dropped Public Animal #9 from the setlist and replaced it with Dirty Diamonds!? Replace Feed My Frankenstein with Dirty Diamonds! At the moment, the only really rare song on the list is Raped and Freezin', as both PA#9 and Long Way To Go have bitten the dust. By the time he gets over here, there'll be no rare ones left Sad

Hehe - I'm seeing Heaven and Hell on the 9th, Bill Bailey on the 15th and Alice on the 18th. I have a treck to Manchester each time. This coupled with a new year of University and many many expensive textbooks and commuting equals Coop being low on £££s

Alice talks about the new album in a recent article:

http://www.daily-times.com/news/ci_7214466

The Daily Times: What about the rumors that you're going to release a new album next year?

Alice: "There are always songs being written. I think I want to do albums that — you write the songs, and record them the same day. Don't let the band get tired of the songs. When the band is excited about those songs, that's when you record it. I think if the song is written well, I would rather hear a great performance than a great production. For a while, we were doing a 14-song album in 14 or 15 days. That's one song per day! This album is going to be a little more produced. It's more on the level of 'The Last Temptation' or 'From The Inside'. When I wrote it, I realized there was a character that was really trying to get me to develop him, and I couldn't figure out who he was. I started reading the lyrics and realized there was a guy evolving from this, a guy named Spider. He was a serial killer, but he was a complex serial killer. He doesn't kill for thrills, necessarily, and there's almost a justice about it in his eyes. In our eyes, maybe not."

The Daily Times: With these character-based albums, do you have a character in mind before you write the lyrics, or does a character develop after you start the writing process?

Alice: "Well, the idea behind 'The Last Temptation' was that there was an idea there already, sort of in the vein of 'Something Wicked This Way Comes'. The whole thought process of that was — here is a moral behind the story. If you're a 14-year-old kid, you don't have to buy into everything the world offers you. It doesn't mean you have to be sexually active, it doesn't mean you have to be a drug addict, it doesn't mean you have to be a 19-year-old before your time. Be innocent for as long as you can! Don't let the world push you around. Don't let Hollywood tell you you're a jerk because you're not having sex every night. There's a great innocence in being a teenager that you have to hold onto."

According to a posting on the ALICE COOPER fan site http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/, Cooper will return to London, Ontario to play Centennial Hall on October 10 at 8 p.m. It’s being billed as Cooper’s 40th anniversary in Canada, dating back to 1968 when promoter Don Jones first brought him to the old Wonderland Gardens. Tickets are $61.50 plus charges. They go on sale Friday, April 4.

ALICE COOPER recently signed a deal with Steamhammer/SPV. Autumn 2008 will see the arrival of Cooper’s eagerly awaited new studio album, which the legendary singer began recording in February. Tentatively titled "Along Came A Spider", the CD is being co-produced by Greg Hampton and Danny Saber in Los Angeles.

Cooper interrupted the current studio production for March shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and plans extensive touring later in 2008 covering Europe, Canada, and the USA. His band features longtime drummer Eric Singer, guitarists Keri Kelli and Jason Hook, and bassist Chuck Garric.

Alice’s "Nights With Alice Cooper" syndicated classic rock radio show continues to air Monday through Friday on 90 stations throughout North America plus outlets in Australia, Ireland, the UK, and other countries.

The paperback edition of Cooper’s "Alice Cooper, Golf Monster: A Rock ’N’Roller’s 12 Steps To Becoming A Golf Addict" book is scheduled to hit stores in May.

"Golf Monster" is a pull-no-punches account of Alice’s life, and it deals candidly with his alcohol problem, which almost ruined him at the height of his fame in the ’70s.

Just one more week to go. I am so excited about Along Came A Spider that I think I feel a bit sick...

I'm mostly really intrigued to hear it because opinions of people who have heard the leaked version are love and hate. I have never seen such cries of amazement coupled with such hatred from hardcore fans as I have seen for this one. I shall soon see for myself. Anyone else looking forward to it or am I on my own? Very Happy

Dennis Dunaway, the original bass player of the Alice Cooper group, announced during an interview on WJCU's "Metal On Metal" radio program with host Bill Peters that he and fellow original Alice Cooper group member Neal Smith (drums) are going to be working with Alice on material for the legendary rocker's new studio album, the sequel to "Welcome To My Nightmare".

During the June 19 press conference at the Hellfest in Clisson, France, Cooper stated about his plans for the upcoming record, "I'm very happy with working with [producer] Bob [Ezrin] again. It's 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare', and it's the next nightmare. Thirty years later, he has another nightmare, and this one is even worse than the last one.

"I [hadn't] worked with Bob in a long time. After the 35th anniversary of 'Nightmare', I said, 'Why don't we start writing something else?' And he said, 'Why don't we just do part two?' We'd never done part two, so I went, 'That's a great idea. Let's get me and you together, I think we can still get Steven Hunter and Dick Wagner. We'll put some of the original people on it and add some new people."

When asked what the next album will sound like and if the goal to simply "revisit the past," Cooper said, "I didn't think that we could recreate the sound, but the first three things we did are identical to that era. In fact, we purposely added a few '70s things to it to give it that '70s sound. Without even trying, it sounded just like 'Nightmare'. If we can keep that going, it will really be something. It captures an era."
