DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — will reportedly support HEAVEN AND HELL on their upcoming tour of Australia/New Zealand.

Wow,

Just saw the guys at Challenge Stadium in Perth. Though the show was a little shorter than some of the bootlegs I'd heard so far it was a sensation. I am too young (just) to have seen the guys in the early 80's but was blown away by what I saw tonight. We first have to thank some strangers who gave away tickets in row D to us and a Dio-friend we met in Subiaco! (We had tickets for row 'S')
Getting that close was all the more of an experience and we all sincerely thank you for it from the bottom of our hearts! We will do the same for others when we can! Share the love people!
I know lot's of us love Sabbath but the Dio incarnation had it all for me - a great band, bass, guitar and drums but now with a singer! And despite his 65 years Ronnie delivered big time, I never heard a voice from a little guy that was so powerful and emmotional. It had us rocking and in tears at the same time ( and my wife wanted to take him home)!!!
And I must say I never thought I would enjoy a drum solo! But Vinnie's was so different and entertaining and a double bass/guitar solo was also a surprise! Keep the youngsters on their toes!!!
If Tony or the girls read this please get in touch, the Rock crowd proved both that there is a huge audience still for this type of gig and that we are the best kind of music-lovers in the world.
I'm sure a hundred people will write a review better than I can, but to me tonight was about more than that. It was about celebration, rock music, and all our yesterdays and our tomorrows.
Tony, Geezer. Vinnie and Ronnie thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Mark and Jo.
Perth.

I thought the Black Sabbath Concert with Dio at the Helm was GR8 . Ihave been waitting for them to come out to Australia for 26Yrs. Was not gonna miss my chance this time around, and was Blown away. I took my 19yr old son with me. We loved it Razz
How ever was disappointed by the attendence in Sydney Twisted Evil I dont know what Promotions where done in Perth, but there was hardly any in Sydney Twisted Evil Most people that I told about the concert didn,t even know Black Sabbath where here. So lot,s of people missed out due to Bad Promotion. It took them so long to come out here and they might never come again is my Fear Sad
Dio hasn,t lost his touch he still has that Gr8 Powerfull Voice. I just Love it. Razz
Musicly the Guy's hadn,t lost their touch either. The Best concert I've ever been to !!!!!!!! As a True Sabbath & Dio Fan it is a memory that will last with me for as long as I Live. Was defenatly well worth the wait. Hopefully wont be waitting as long next time.
Have herad that Dio may tour here with his own band. Hope its True. Would look forward to that.

I managed to catch two shows during the long , long awaited Australian tour.

Aug. 10 - Rod Laver Arena - Melbourne, AUS
and
Aug. 14 - Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, AUS

The set list was the same for both shows that i went too.

E5150
Mob Rules
Childern Of The Sea
I
Sign Of The Southern Cross
Voodoo
Drum Solo
Comuter God
Falling Of The Edge Of The World
Shadow Of The Wind
Die Young
Heaven And Hell - Extended Solo / Jam

Encore - Neon Knights

I first discovered Black Sabbath in about 1983 when Live Evil was first released , a friends father had brought the album and we found it one day looking though his records collection , i loved the cover and we put it on the record player for a listen and i loved it !!!and have been a fan since.( but unbeknowns to me i'd been a fan of Ronnie's singing long before that but that , it would take a few more years to discover that though) so ive been waiting for this tour for a every long time. The last time Black Sabbath toured Australia was November 1980 and i think that was 4 dates in Sydney only and the last Dio tour was September 1986 and i think that was Melbourne , Sydney and possibly Brisbane and living so far away from Melbourne and only 14 at the time , i didnt know about the Dio tour until long after they had left. Sad
As "Sabbynib"mentioned in his post , the promotion for the shows was none existent, i was in Melbourne the day before the concert and seen no advertisement for the shows what so ever , it wasnt until , i was walking to the venue that i seen a poster for the show and it was the same at Brisbane which kept crowds well down.
The Melbourne show , i have never been so exicted before a show in my life i had 'buterrflys in my stomach' for days before , my oldest son (13) was also exicted .(being a guitar player and his first ever show) We got to the venue and heard the last few songs of Down , which were that loud i could hardly swallow and could have sounded a whole lot better...... the lights went down and E5150 started and i was utterly astonished at how good Ronnie's voice and the band sounded and with that Mob Rules was over , the intro to Childern Of The Sea started a little embarrassedly my eyes weld up with tears..........it had been a long wait and one of my favourite songs. Sign Of The Southern Cross was another highlight for me , this song always felt like it had an Australian connection , our flag has has the stars of the southern cross on it and it was also use on the flag at the 'Eureka Stockade' rebellion of 1854. Vinnie's drum solo.... to be honest i wasn't looking forward to it but i was really surprised!!!!!!and enjoyed it and took much more notice at the next concert. The rest of the show was so much , much more than i could ever have imagined. I woke up the next day hoping it wasnt a dream.!!!!! The crowd , young and old really enjoyed it , singing every word to all the songs , making the show something i'll never forget , the Brisbane crowd.....well they were very reserved but the band were excellant trying to get the crowd into it but to no-avail.......but i had one of the times of my life!!!!!!

I went to the show in Adelaide at theby It was to best show i have ever been to the hole band was perfect. theby was a great venue because there is no rows so i got right up the front only about 2 meters away from the stage. Its hard to believe that the band, even though in there sixties can still rock so hard. Dio did not stop screaming and running around the satge he was going crazy, he even pointed at me and gave me the devil sign.

down were the supporting act they were pretty good but the lead singer was a wanker. He kept calling the crowd pussy's and was pretending to shoot himself which is not good because his ex fellow band member in pantera was shot dead on stage.
