as i already told you,we have only an acoustic guitar which is my father's...sorry i mean HAD not HAVE...guess what?me and my brother bought an electric guitar...
if anyone has advices for songs to play or links for tabs it would be great...because two of the songs i wanted to learn on the electric were "Tarot woman"and "overlove"and i can't find none of them.i usually go to UltimateGuitar...
i was insane in the music shop and when we bought it i was hyperactive and crazy.well actually i'm usually most of the time crazy but that doubled when we bought the BABY...
if anyone want to share about his/her instruments that they have it will be great...i'm sure GuitarGod will start talking about his AXES... |

i think it's Stratocarter...did i get it wrong?
it's beautiful.it's black and has white in the front and the arm is hand made from wood...we bought it with everything but the peddal.it's with outer amplifire(as my father said) and with the distortion.
it has controls for tone, volume and gain...
is that good GG?be honest... |

Well i think it's great! Just don't fight over it, most likely your brother wont have the love for it that you do. You will get lots of joy from that guitar! Look at how it's all put together, so when the srings need replacing you can do it, it's easy to do, make sure to wind them the same direction everytime and everything, you'll be a great guitarist with practice. _________________ GUITARGOD |

I've got a Black & White Gibson Explorer.
Played for 2 years never really practiced though, and then didn't play for a year. Picked it back up 3 weeks ago and have since learned 1/2 of "Country Girl"
the intro to "Rainbow Eyes", "Child in Time", and "Smoke on the Water"
I've also started on some Lordi stuff, but don't have the speed yet....and Hammerfall, looked at it, forget that for another few years lol... _________________

I use the heavy (thick) picks for playing hard stuff, but on acoustic or mellow stuff the thin picks sound better IMO. _________________ GUITARGOD |

Okay here's the way it works for me... I played in a band a long time ago that did a lot of cover tunes, mostly classic rock stuff like Blue Oyster Cult, Ted Nuget, Mountain, ZZ Top, Bad Company, Spirit.. songs from bands like that, we also did some original stuff which is what i much rather do. I really have no interest in playing the music of someone else, i'd much rather make my own, that's what feel natural and comes to me naturally. I'd played in other bands short time where we snuck in a Rat song here and there but still always ended up making our own. And if you don't practice songs you learn all the time you will forget how they go, although just a little work going over it and it does come right back.
So right now i don't play any cover tunes, Al and I talked of one that i will start here shortly but right now all i have are my own old songs under my belt.
1. Burn me.
2. Stone Steps.
3. Sad is Best.
4. Seven Angels.
5. Monsters.
6. Monkey Hand.
7. Three Times.
8. K Lady.
9. Empty eyes.
10. Ascending.
11. Seventh Song.
12. African Sky.
13. Snow Covered Mushroom.
14. Run Away - NEVERMET
1 Trough 13 were all songs that i had to do everything drums vocals bass and all the guitars so it took me forever..not counting Monkeyhand where a friend of mine did the drums for me. And in African Sky a little chick i know sang backup for me. That stuff was a project called Shalimars Freak Show.
You can do cover tunes if you wish and they are good to get started but doing your own material is really the point of doing it in the first place to me. _________________ GUITARGOD |

Amen to that brother I have always wanted to create music rather than just play. As a vocalist I have done my share of covers, and gained the most notariaty by doing so, but it was my songs that I really wanted to sing. Doing covers was just a nice way to develop my voice in ways I may not have tried otherwise. _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

one of my favourite guitarists is Mark Knofler and i practice a song of his on the Guitar...i like the way he plays...
i think after this year at school i'll make-up for my guitar and learn many many new stuff...but now that i'm 17 and it's the last year at school that everything in the future depends on you just have to study all the time and when i study i miss music and the guitars and everything, but everyone wants me to study now... |

I have a Sunburst P Bass and a Crimson red Yamaha bass.
I also have an old acoustic guitar that I can't play if my life depended on it. |

I made the mistake of playing one of those once... I've wanted one from that point on! There is a reason they cost so much...they are worth it!
The one i tried was $1300.00 and i just can't pay that much for an accoustic which i just don't work with that much so it would be hard to justify the cost for me.
I have a bunch of guitars some are expensive and some are not, but i will buy guitars off and on untill the day i die, it's just who i am. I just missed a killer deal on an accoustic from Hawaii made of Koha... i just didn't have the bones for it and i'd spent too much money on plumbing stuff. Oh well there's always deals that come and go, this was a really really good deal though, it was only $250.00 and it was worth at least $600.00 IMO! SIGH!!! _________________ GUITARGOD |
