If any of you guys (especially those who have formed bands already) could help me out here. I am trying to form a band but the only other guy I could find would play rythm guitar, and then he became disinterested. I know a couple guys who are learning keyboards and I;m trying to find a drummer singer bassist, so if any of you have any suggestions, be greatly appreciated. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

For local guys i ran a news paper add, that's how i found the drummer for NEVERMET. Are you going to record or just do some good old jamming with pals?
Keep in mind though when i found my drummer he is still from a different town about an hour away from my town but it still works out. _________________ GUITARGOD |

Huh, I thought Al was in Nevermet??????????????????
Anyway, I'm trying to jam but also do some recording. One of my friends seems interested, but more in just saying he's in a band, unfortunately. I;m trying to look for a drummer and bassist and of course a singer. I'll try the newspaper thing. Chances are that this will be just a high school band though, not much else. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

Al is in NEVERMET silly! He's the singer, the drummer is who came from the add, Travis Dollerhide.
Yeah you need to find guys with the same drive that you have or it will just fizzle out. _________________ GUITARGOD |

Try posting some printed ads on bulletin boards around your area. Musical instrument shops are obviously best, but put them wherever you can find a public board. Check grocery stores, drug stores, convenience stores, gas stations, local library, recreational center... anywhere. You mentioned high school, so see about posting your ad somewhere at your school.
Be as specific as you can in the ad. Offer relevant details about yourself, the project, and goals you aim to achieve. Explain what you're looking for in the musicians you seek, and don't hesitate to mention what you don't want. Age range? Experience? Own gear and transportation? Keep it clear and concise. Don't forget to include your contact details and jam/rehearsal space location. It would be a good idea to make tear-off strips at the bottom of the ad with your contact info on them.
Look for local classifieds online and try posting there, as well.
Another good idea would be to just get out to some existing local bands' gigs and mingle a bit. Talk to people in the crowd and see if you can find some other band-less musicians. Try talking to the bands themselves. They may know someone available who would be interested. Doesn't hurt to ask.
Tell your friends to pass the word along that you're looking for other musicians to form a band. Word of mouth can still do a lot.
Good luck! _________________ www.myspace.com/harrsteevis

Couldn't agree more with Harr Stevis - afterall, that's how the original Sabbath lineup found each other. Ozzy Zig needs a gig!!! _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

We don't have a name yet. I've met the bassist/probably vocalist. I've not yet met the drummer. Thanks guys. I asked a couple of my buds about it and they knew people.....Yeah. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion
