My philosophy teacher in college used to say that life was a dance, some people are wallflowers. They hang back and watch, and maybe if someone comes up and pulls them to the floor they may dance a bit. Then there are others who hit the dancefloor, even with no partner to dance with, people may laugh at them or point at them but at least when its said and done they can say they danced.

I think what she was meaning, and my interpertation of who "the dancer" is, is the people who put themselves out there, the people who don't care what others think of them, they enjoy life even if others are laughing at them.

These people are often shunned by others or loked upon as being weird. "Normal" people don't want to be associated with them because they're afraid. Therefore no one will come to their aid or stand up for them, noone will bleed for them.

Just the way I look at it, I liked reading some of the other ways people see it. None of us are right or wrong, thats the cool thing about music. It means so many different things to different people. We all hear the same lyrics but we hear them differently.

And, Ronnie has said that Heaven and Hell is about life.
So, I see that this line means that people can appreciate what you do, but they don't give a shit about YOU. You can always be replaced! Nobody bleeds for you, dancer; they can bleed for seeing you dance. Not for you.

-BAD EXPLANATION but ask more if you didn't get the point there.

Bravo. Ronnie has said that song is about life. It is not a religious song in any literal sense. If dancer is devil then he is telling us we must bleed for the devil several lines later. He has stated in comments asked about that song that heaven and hell are not places one goes to but are here on earth. It is what we make life to be.

To bleed for someone means to care. "You bleeding heart liberals," is a phrase used by some republicans a lot. It means to overly care about something.

He is saying that love can be seen as the answer to life While no one cares for the dancer of life who goes from one element to the next in the moment just living life and enjoying it care free to the world and all that is around it.

Here is another meaning for dancer:

To leap or skip about excitedly.
To appear to flash or twinkle: eyes that danced with merriment.
Informal: To appear to skip about; vacillate: danced around the issue.

Perhaps the dancer of life is not seen as a serious person and although love may be the answer to life no one will care for someone who has no goal in life and just chooses to dance from one thing to the next. They will tell them to get a job, to get married, to have kids, to eat your vegetables, do not stay up late, etc etc etc.

In the end ronnie is saying but we have to bleed for this dancer because this dancer is a lover of life, while the rest of us make life heaven and hell, the dancer does not. It is simple in the moment enjoying it.

If it seems to be real its illusion
If something in your life is great, it won't last.
Its like in Neon Knights, "Good Things never Last"

For every moment of truth there's confusion in life

For everything tha you figure out, there's still a hell of a lot more to go.

Love can be seen as the answer

Love is the answer to problems

But Nobody bleeds for the dancer
THis means no one cares about their love anymore. Its all about fucking.
