| I have a poll for you I vote with the second option. It'll be interesting to see where the rest of you sit on the subject. My reason is that the last few thing that Iommi has done have been not up to standard. ie. the 2 extra tracks on the live album one was called selling my soul. the glenn hughes album fused didnt work at all. the 3 new dio tracks are not great songs either. iommi has lost the ability to write a good track. i would like Dio to leave him where he is and to concentrate on working for himself. Now lets hear what you think. NEIL |

To be honest, I'd love to hear at least one Heaven And Hell's new album... you know, Sabbath+Dio are my favourite Heavy Metal band ever... anyway I'd love a new DIO album too but, as I have just said, I'd prefer a new H&H's studio album. _________________ THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY, FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE!

Well it depends if Ozzy gets off his fat arse and records a new Sabbath album. If he does, and it's looking likely, then I'd like Ronnie to reform Dio.
If not then try and bounce between the two because Dio and Dio/Sabbtah are both great and I don't want to see Iommi and Geezer playing the same songs every year at $haronfest when they've got so much talent that isn't shining through. |

I'd like Dio to do an album with the Heaven & hell line up. Really like the new stuff. Then the project will be finished in ... 2009(?). Of course Dio could play with his band at some festivals/venues in between. I hope.
Needless to say I opted for number 3 in the poll. |

Well this just came in to blabbermouth
RONNIE JAMES DIO: 'The Last Thing On My Mind Is Doing Another BLACK SABBATH Album' - June 27, 2007.
J. Bennett of Decibel magazine (web site) recently conducted an interview with legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, HEAVEN AND HELL). An excerpt from the chat follows:
Decibel: Did you ever get the feeling from Tony [Iommi] and Geezer [Butler] that they had a sense of relief about not being tied into the Ozzy Business for a change [with HEAVEN AND HELL]?
Dio: You know, I couldn't really speak about the business part of it. I don't know what their business structure was or how much they enjoyed it. But musically, I know they were relieved to be able to go out and onstage and compete with other bands and be proud of it. I think it's been difficult for them because for the last 15 years they've played "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" over and over and over again. And these are things that they say in interviews, so I'm not putting words in their mouths. I think they especially Tony wanted to take more musical chances and revisit something that was exciting for them. They'd had enough "Iron Man".
Decibel: They didn't bitch about Sharon even a little bit?
Dio: Oh, no we don't have those kinds of conversations. This is nothing to do with Sharon or Ozzy. This is what we're doing, and we just concentrate on doing the best we possibly can. I don't ask them anything about Sharon, and they don't ask me questions like that, either. I think that's a private matter, really. I know everyone thinks there's a problem between Sharon and everyone else in the world, but it may not be true. So we don't bother with that. It's not important to us.
Decibel: Has there been any discussion about doing a HEAVEN AND HELL album?
Dio: Well, there's always discussion about that. When we wrote the three songs for "The Dio Years", it went so well for us that it became obvious that it'd be pretty damn easy for us to do that. But we never said a thing about it because we wanted to put a timeline on this. Unlike the war, we have a timeline. So when we finish in December, that's it/ I have commitments with DIO; I know Tony and Geezer have things to do, and I know SABBATH's 40th anniversary is coming up, too, so I'm sure they'll do something with that as well. But we wanted to put some finality to this. It's a lot better this way. Should something happen down the line, well
there we are. But I can understand the question because we did those three songs and people think, "Hell, SABBATH haven't even done one in the time they've been back together." I think they actually did do one or two, but whatever they've done certainly didn't reach the quality, I think, of what we did on these three tracks. So people want more, but you know, we have to be careful with all of this. I love my own band a lot, and I don't want to not play with them again. DIO did an album called "Magica", and our next album is going to be a double-album: "Magica 2" and "3". I wanna finish it before I quit this damn business. So the last thing on my mind is doing another SABBATH album at this point. _________________

If he wants to do a double Magica album now, I think everybody will give up on the rejoin Black Sabbth vote, especially since next year will probably be an anniversary tour with Ozzy.
Ah, what the hell. I vote for Ronnie to be in both bands at once! He's a big enough man to do it! _________________ Sit on it, Potsie. |

| sabbath with dio is my all time favorite and a new album with sabbath would be awesome. it would be aweseome if he did both sabbath and dio either way as long as ronnie doesn't retire and still keeps rocking us i'll be happy. |

Like most others I chose both as well, but if I had to choose I'd probably choose for him to stay with sabbath more than Dio _________________

| i wish dio would do another album with heaven and hell or sabbath whatever you wanna call it.the 3 new songs were awesome. the guys are getting along great and are having a blast.i know it would be awesome and well recieved.even if it doesn't happen i'm just glad they got back togther and that i was able to see them that was a dream come true.i've seen the dio band 3 times but it was so special seeing him back with sabbathand hearing the dio era sabbath songs with tony, geezer ,and vinny. i just know that no matter what ronnie decides to do its gonna be magic and no matter what we'll all keep supporting him and because he never lets us down.\m/ |

| I would prefer him finishing off his career with Sabbath, doing new music with them, and another Ozzy-Sabbath tour never happening. We've been getting Dio solo albums for quite some time, and the last few have been wanting. Killing The Dragon was good, not great. Master Of The Moon was subpar. They all have something good about them, but I'd much rather hear more of Ronnie with Tony and Geezer and Vinnie than a lame Magica sequel. Just cause the first one was good doesn't mean the second will be. Its not the Magica name, and certainly not the hoky storyline, that makes it good. Its the songs. If he has good songs, it doesn't matter what the title is. But I worry that an attempt to do a blatant sequel will only subtract from the final result. Most sequels suck. Abigail II, Operation Mindcrime II, etc. |
