Wha wha what! There was a time before metal? I thought it was created all in the first week?

"Let there be light", and there was light
"Let there be sound", and there was sound
"Let there be drums", and there was drums
"Let there be guitar", and there was guitar
"Let there be rock"
And it was good. So may it be.

Damn, I love that video. I'd dress my step-kids up in the schoolboy outfits with wire halos for halloween if the Mrs. wouldn't kill me!

When I was a kid,me and three friends dressed up as Kiss for Halloween for years!!

I was raised with my parents listening to Hendrix,Cream,Vanilla Fudge, Ten Years After,ZZ Top,Alice Cooper,Sabbath,etc,etc.. So I guess I have been listening to metal since it's infancy..

And when the Dio concert videos were rereleased on DVD,I bough them all.My 14 year old daughter was more than happy to take the VHS versions off my hands, and she watches them alot more often that you'd think...

Started in 77 with Sabbath.Quickly discovered Zep,purple and Rush,Then around 81 foun Saxon Maiden,Magnum,Rainbow,Dio,Scorpions,Accept,UFO,Motorhead,Stinky Nightgown,TriumphOzzy.
There were always contenders for best band but Sabbath have always remained at the top

Just trying to remember. I think it was a year ago last September or October that my mate played me Paranoid. I guess that makes me a Metal Novice.

When I was 6 (in 1968) my kindergarten teacher asked the class what our favorite songs were, and I said "She's so fine" by Jimi Hendrix (such a great song and written by Noel Redding - I still love that song). Jimi was pretty controversial then so I imagine she was a bit surprised.

Oh man over 27 years ago i do believe i'd have to check the album dates but Kiss God of Thunder and Black Sabbath Iron Man had my attention big time as a little kid, i tried to hide it for a long time because i thought rock-n-roll was bad. Laughing....

For me, almost 4 years now, although it doesn't sound like much, over time I've come to like a bunch of metal bands. I came quite a way since the summer of '03. But I still wish I had listened to it earlier.

Well, I've been listening to metal for about since I was a baby, but started to get into it for couple of years ago. Novice, I am, for I am so young.
