I have listen to 100s of female vocalists...I don't know this one.
I am not sure about the song never mind the vocalist...''Once'' is gonna be a hard cd to follow and make the same sales it did with Tarja.
I keep listening and thinking its a American Female vocalist...I don't know why...
Names being post around the net are .....Johanna Kurkela and Martina Hornbacher but I don't know of their work to give that answer...tune in here tomorrow around this time to find out! |

She resembles a bit Candice Night, but it is not her, she wouldn't do this kind of music..
I don't think its a Scandinavian singer, can't hear any scandinavian accent..... |

I listened to the 4 available samples on Nightwish.com. I don't think they sound very Nightwish anymore Not just because of the vocals, but they sound different somehow. I get the feeling they are going through the motions to prove they haven't made a big mistake. Anette is better than I had originally thought. But they do now sound no different from pretty much any other female-fronted metal-goth-style band. It's a shame.
Then again, this is all from 4 samples, so we'll see how the album turns out. To be honest, I'll probably buy it more out of curiosity. I sure hope it is good. It's sad to see a favourite band change to the point where you don't like what they are playing anymore. _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

The new clips sound pretty impressive..........quite looking forward to the album actually. Amaranth sounds a little heavy for Nightwih though. I think the best one sounds like Eva. Haven't dowloaded it because it's not any of the download serviced I use (iTunes, 7Digital) and my dad won't set up a new account somewhere so I can get one song |

| Didn't say it was the full schedule either. It'll probably carry on through January and February. I'm hoping they play England sometime next year because I'd like to see them. |

A video interview with new NIGHTWISH singer Anette Olzon (a.k.a. Anette Blyckert), conducted a couple of days ago by Finland's MTV3, has been posted at this location. The 35-year-old Swedish vocalist talks about the pressure of replacing Tarja Turunen, the change in her appearance since she joined NIGHTWISH and the possibility of the band recording a song in Swedish.

According to Finland's MTV3, the new NIGHTWISH single "Eva" is currently under investigation by Teosto, the Finnish RIAA equivalent whose task it is to promote the rights of composers, lyricists, arrangers and music publishers, and to strengthen the diversity of Finnish composition. The chorus of the song is allegedly very similar to a track called "Whirlpool" by Jukka Reinivuo, a relatively unknown Finnish artist. In fact, the similarities are so great that allegations of plagiarism have already been thrown around.
NIGHTWISH keyboardist and composer Tuomas Holopainen has denied the accusation, saying that he just heard about this today (May 30) and that he has never heard the song or the artist in question. Holopainen went on to add that he was interested in hearing the track first before commenting further.
Listen to both songs on YouTube:
NIGHTWISH – "Eva": http://youtube.com/watch?v=fShJs8eXrrk
JUKKA "RAYSKA" REINIVUO – "Whirlpool": http://youtube.com/watch?v=KY9dB4wXrJs
Not a very good way to kck things off with a new singer. I'll give them both a listen and see what I think. |

Some similarities, but plagiarism, no.
I actually like the song Eva, and the new singer , Anette. Nice voice, but then again I haven't been listening to Nightwish for so long, so Tarja is not to me " the only true Nightwish vocalist". |

I agree and the song Whirlpool is just terrible. It starts in the same way but the completey changes. Besides it's probably coincidence.....it's not like anyone's heard of that Jukka guy or any of his music.
Eva is brilliant and I've just realised that it's up for download on iTunes Anette doesn't sound anything like Tarja which is good because I think it works better for a replacement to have different vocals to their predecessor.....that way they're not compared as much I think I prefer Tarja but then I haven't heard Annete live yet and at least you can hear what she's singing. |
