Just picked up copies of their second and third albums on ebay and they're brilliant
I said a while ago about not having heard a really great voice in ages but ZP Heart is amazing. As is the whole band.....great musicianship.
Anyone else into them ? |

I listen to Dragonforce. I got their newest album though. What I want to know is why some of the "hot topic" emo kids like 'em? Oh well. They're great musicians, IMO. |

| Weird because Dragonforce is pretty much everything an emo kid would hate......probably don't know what they're listening too. |

I've gone off Dragonforce recently. No real reason, but I go through phases of listening to diferent types of music, and power metal has been neglected for a long time! I'm not so sure about ZP Theart. I think perhaps they need a different singer. He can sing no question, but I don't find his tone to sit wel with the music - it occcasionally pushes the overall sound a bit towards over-cheesy.
But the band can not be faulted on their musicianship, which is more important anyway.
I only have Sonic Firestorm. _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

I enjoy them every once and a while, the problem I find if you listen too muhc in succession is the songs blend together too easily...
and I have to agree, his vocals can get annoying at points... _________________

Don't agree with his vocals getting annoying but after listening to Sonic Firestorm properly today I have to agree that although it's a crracking album it sounds a little samey at points and sort of drifts over you at points near the end. I'll listen to Inhuman Rampage all the way through tommorow and post what I think of it |

Extremely over rated but I have to say they are a very good band, when the guitarist isn't trying to play pacman through his guitar. I know it's addicting but he really should stop before it takes over his mind. Waka Waka Waka!
Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage are both very good albums but like most power metal music loses it's great spark quickly for me.
They aint shite or anything like that but they're not as good as they're said to be. I listened to them for a while before they suddenly struck gold and became famous about a year and a half ago. |

Honestly I don't really like them. Everything they write sounds just too familiar. Even the songs that fans say are their best are just too repetetive, usually to the point of me getting bored with them. If you want to hear some of this newer power/speed metal that's actually good, check out Firewind. At least their individual songs sound different from one another, and each of their albums isn't trying to re-make the previous one. _________________ Weird thoughts that don't work,

Then listen closer.... Li's Solos especially have some blatant Kai Hanson material. _________________
