Simple topic, the title says it all!
For a long time I've said Doug Aldrich, but after finally giving Magica a number spins from start to finish, I have changed my mind and have to say Craig Goldy.
Who's yours? |

Admittedly I don't own any of the Tracy G albums nor LUTW but I'd probably say Doug Aldrich. Not that I don't like Craig, I think he's a very good guitarist as of couse was Vivian. But I just prefer his style and his work on KTD, Evil Or Divine and HDL are excellent. The new Whitesnake DVD's great too.

No preference. If Ronnie's singing, it could be anyone and I'd be happy.
Really. |

Craig Goldy, without doubts... well, I like all DIO's guitarists (except Tracy G that I think he didn't fit DIO), but IMO Craig is perfect for the band, you can see it by yourself on "Sacred Heart - The DVD -" and some bootlegs of DIO shows with Craig at the guitar... moreover, he plays on my favourite DIO album ever: DREAM EVIL!!!
Magic!

Viv! (Or Tony if he counts). I was just listening to some of Viv's stuff with dio, and dont talk to strangers has to have the best guitar solo ever! Need to hear more of Goldy's stuff though _________________ If I speak at one constant volume. at one constant pitch. at one constant rhythm.

| Craig, even if he isn't the best skilled Dio guitarist. |

hm, overall including attitude playing of classics and all that other great stuff its almost a tie between Craig and Doug, but Doug's more blusy style gets him the cake. His playing of Craig's "fever Dreams" on Evil or Divine is also exceptional, if I'm ever looking for a heavy guitar riff just throw that abby on either Craig's version of Doug's depending if I want the live feel or now.
Viv is also great, though Sacred Heart could have been a lot better and he's admitted to screwin that album up. oh well. _________________

| Rowan Robertson and Doug Aldrich. Vivian Cambell was great with Dio but I lost respect for him after he slammed Dio in an interview and Craig is also great. |

Hands down....Viv
Holy Diver, Last in Line, even Sacred Heart has a few good tunes.
Craigs had his moments tho. Magica and Dream Evil were strong efforts.
Doug wasnt in the band enough but hes an amazing player.
LUTW is an underrated album...Rowan was like 18 when that was recorded....
Tracy G....Im sure some like his style |

I totally agree with that actually. But if forced to choose it would be Vivian Campbell for me. that guy can screw up all kinds of things...but he still played on 'Rainbow..' and 'Last in Line' |
