Heaven & Hell @ the Forum, Los Angeles CA April 25,2007
All my pictures for this show are at:
http://www.webshots.com/user/DioRonnieJames
First off my friend Bob who I met at a Scorpions show in 2005 in Costa Mesa won tickets for Heaven & Hell off the radio & called me to invite me down. I am astonished by all the wonderful people I've met through concerts!
I made up my mind I was going to both shows!!!! My friend Kristy aka Kittybeast who I also met at the Iron Maiden Universal 2004 shows & were front row center for the Maiden Colorado 2005 show, said I could crash at her house when I got into LA.
Another gracious person I've had the pleasure to meet! I drove until 5:30 am & I had to stop to rest for an hour. 6:30 I made the rest of the way to Magic Mountain to Kristy's & by then I was up.
So we talked & looked at all her cool metal stuff. I got to meet her husband Dave & she made made us breakfast...I needed it too...especially the OJ! We got ready & I got a message off of myspace asking for a ride to the Forum show.
I didn't know who it was & I was glad I was carpooling with Kristy, I gave him my Cell # & told him to call me. We went by Amoeba records & stopped of at the Rock Walk of Fame...So I had to take a couple of pictures.
Then we picked Jason up in Brentwood & made our way through the mad LA traffic on the freeway. I just laid back & relaxed, thanks to Kristy driving. We got to the Forum's parking lot & set up camp. It was about 4pm when we got there.
Kristy & I are old school metalheads from the 80's...the parking lot scene has sure changed a lot! I think most everyone got to the show after the doors opened maybe because it was a weekday show?
My friend Bob was waiting in line for us in case we wanted to have a spot upfront. I handed out 25 more Black Sabbath live in Tokyo 1980 cds to the fans waiting in line.
I was pretty spacey not because of any drugs, I don't do that stuff anymore, but because I was on only 1 hour sleep & those long drives wore you out! Bob came back to Kristy's truck.
We ate, drank,& talked...Made a ring around the parking lot & then headed in for the show. Kristy was getting a couple shirts for fans in Alabama & I noticed they had some merch they didn't have at San Jose!
I didn't see the Patches, the sticker set, & the Denim Jacket in San Jose & I went to all the Merch booths. So I got 4 patches for myself/friends & the sticker set...I had my eye on the jacket...but I didn't get it.
We all had floor tickets so we made a train down to the floor...it was a train wreck! The staff inside were so disorganized & they didn't tell you what isles went down to the floor! We ended up getting split up & met up after the show.
I don't what it is...I've only been to LA for a few shows & the L.A. crowd doesn't impress me. Maybe I just expected more from them being LA. But Nor Cal knows how to rock! It makes me wonder why some bands just play So Cal though!
It was still a great show & there was the usual pushing on the floor. I managed to get behind the people on the rail & I didn't force my way up!
Since the Staff said there was NO CAMERAS, I had to sneak in a disposable camera & asked a few taller people to take pictures..I even got this kid on his dad's shoulders to get a few shots of Megadeth. So I managed to get some pics.
By the end of the night I was beat! I crashed at Kristy's & woke up,showered packed, & I was on the road back home @ 7am....I got home @ 12:30pm ...I made good time!
Basically the last couple of days I've been on such a high from the shows that it took me a long time to sit down & focus on writing a review.
I really hope everyone that gave me their emails got my reply to them.
Lots of people remember me from shows...either giving out fresh cold fruit, cds, & just getting emails to share my concert pictures.
A lot of times people don't know how to take me...that's because the world we live in is not how it should be....
I'm gonna keep being myself & do what I can to make sure everyone has a good time!
It's just that some of my favorite people I've met going to shows & I'm always looking for those same type of people I guess.
Long Live Rock N Roll !!!!
Metal Forever !!!!

It took me a real long time to write this review & post images with it.
Can I at least get a comment from someone besides me?
This was a great show & would love to hear from other fans that went.
Stay Strong,
Dion
My San Jose review is better with more pictures! _________________ Long Live DIO,
