I sure dig the DVD! I have to sit down and watch it every so often. I really like the way they do the end of heaven and hell with that little extra riff they throw in there.

Amazing DVD from Dio. Good song choises and Doug Aldrich is amazing guitar player . When I get it I watch it almost every day. I watch it today too but not every day anymore. KEEP ROCKING RONNIE!

Aldrich's interpretation of the material is really good.
For example, he plays the Campbell-era solos much the same as Vivian did, but with just enough of his own flavor to make it new again.
Aldrich has to be one of the best rock guitar players I've ever heard.
Again, there is just something about the way he interprets each individual song; whether from the Rainbow, Black Sabbath, or Dio catalogues.
He puts his own stamp on all of it; while remaining true to the original songs. |
