hello my fellow dio dudes glad im not the only one out here to like dio in britain .
we are far and frew between ! but hey we rock.
well what this post is about is i recentley downloaded a song i suspect of the butterfly ball album which the wonderful ronnie appeared on ,
called homeward featuring roger glover if this is off butterfly ball then why isnt any other stuff with ronnie not mentioned in his dysgraphory. Also .i know ....if its true he did a song on the guitarists of twisted sister will these ever be release as a ronnie james dio side project.
as for hide in the rainbow a film soundtrack that appeared on diamonds would be cool to get em lost tracks on one cd.
i recentley bought wizards convention remember that ronnie in 76.
that ronnie features on two track well the re release
originol jones the dio nut!

Dio - Ultimate Rarities album

if that ever pooped out, I'd buy it in 2 seconds, even camp out for some rediculous amount of time to get it publicized.

A "rarities" album would be great! But how many non dio/elf/rainbow/sabbath songs/ are there?

And how many recorded, but unreleased songs exist?

I wouldn't know... Rolling Eyes

Anyone?

The "Stars" single would be a good starting point which (of course) Dio wrote and sang on as the "Hear 'n' Aid" project. Along similar lines, didn't he feature on the "Smoke on the Water" cover version for "Rock Aid Armenia" ??

An Ultimate Rarities album......count me in.
Like Moonlop said "Stars" would be a great starting point. I've always wanted taht one on CD. If nothing else Ronnie should re-release that - for charity of course.

No, he didn't.

The exceptional rock talent that was involved in the recording of the song included Bryan Adams, Ritchie Blackmore, Bruce Dickinson, Keith Emerson, Ian Gillan, David Gilmour, John Paul Jones, Tony Iommi, Alex Lifeson, Jon Lord, Brian May, Adrian Smith, Paul Rodgers, Chris Squire and Roger Taylor.

I'd love to see a Dio rarities album. It would be nice to hear some pre-Elf stuff and hopefully some unreleased songs as well as live material from the Dream Evil and the Lock Up The Wolves Tour.

Those Elf, Carolina County Ball & Trying To Burn The Sun albums shouldn´t be so hard to get in these times of netwonderland. At least it wasn´t for me Carolina & Trying through my local (Finnish) record shop and the first self-titled allbum from swedish shop. The older ones 60´s & 50´s are available in the net and I don´t think that Ronnie has anything bad to say about downloading those songs. He sure doesn´t get paid of those ayway. But, as a fan, they´re a nice piece of history and shows how the VOICE has matured to be one of those singers defining the word heavy metal.
