I don't know the man personally,
but he does Heaven and Hell and other Sab songs alot.
With Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow reforming (or so it seems)
He chose Black Sabbath.
I said Sabbath.

I don't really see the point of this poll, so I'm not voting, but I'd guess Dio was probably more comfortable with Rainbow. With Sabbath, things have ended acrimoniously twice.
What were the circumstances of his leaving Rainbow anyway? Was he "fired" fired? I assume Ritchie just wanted to change the sound of the band completely, and did so. But did Ronnie part on good terms? |

Ritchie and Ronnie founded Rainbow because both had an interest in medieval music. Ronnie would very much like to work with Ritchie again but the Man in Black has unfortunately fallen under the spell of a sweet-toothed succubus.
According to Ritchie, he stopped by Ronnie’s house and asked him if he wanted to record another album. Ritchie said he wasn’t disappointed that Ronnie wasn’t interested.
Ronnie had grown tired of Ritchie’s craving to endlessly change band members and disapproved of his plans for a more commercial direction. Ironically, Ronnie would later record many commercial songs with Dio.

| you are all talking about the fights and how the members got along with each other. what about the music part? i meant there was a difference in the style (since Black Sabbath is a little heavier)my question is about the music ,did Ronnie like Rainbow or Black Sabbath music more??? |

it's impossible to tell since nobody can answer that but the man himself and i doubt he would! not going to vote, but I'd say BS, he has done so many reunions adn Heaven and Hell, just seemed to work with them a lot more than the way Ritchie went.

In a way Rainbow i would think as he was younger and less ego.
Not that he has a huge ego just likes things his way now of coarse.
But i think i heard somewere that during Heaven & Hell albem with Sabbath, it was his fav time of his life.

i'm not choosing favourites from Black Sabbath and Rainbow,but i wanted it to be Rainbow because of Ritchie Blackmore. |

You and I have always been on the same page with reference to the women in Blackmore's life. I think it was an oversight on your part to have not mentioned that the "sweet-toothed succubus" works in tandem with yet another, and possibly even more controlling, harpy. We have to be diligent and give credit where it is due.
But I have to disagree about Ronnie "ironically recording commercial songs" in DIO. Nothing Ronnie has ever done can compare on the shame scale to the Turner Rainbow material. Don't get me wrong; I like some of the Turner material. But they made the band look gay. Ronnie may have appealed to the masses by using crystal balls and medieval swords in his videos, but I believe Turner signed a contract with Loreal. Just calling it like I see it, my friend.
