Raise your fist and yell, an album nearly forgotten. He never does any songs from it and I am hoping he will soon.

The album features the talents of the Rambo-like Kane Roberts on guitar.

Freedom-The anthemic song has the first slot on this ten song album. True rebellion at heart. Goes against everything society uses to pin us down. Make up Metal Degeneration. The Coop definitely has some anger towards authority in this song. The riffs by Roberts will have you headbanging in no time.

Lock Me Up-A strong song. Definitely a Cooper anthem, understood mostly by only his fans. three minutes and twenty-three seconds of blood spilling music. His opening is also pure power. This album could drag anyone into the world of Alice Cooper.

Give the Radio Back- Weak point. Just a song about how much schools suck. I kind of wanna say it's Cooper's version of the "I Wanna Rock" video, but I am not sure. THe opening just doesn't get you the way Lock Me Up's opening does.

Step on You- Another good song. Who hasn't had that annoying pest in their life who needed to be stepped on. Who will feel like Stomping your feet to the excellent rythm of Kip Winger and Ken Mary. Step. Step.

Not That Kind Of Love- This song will have you one of three ways. Either you're one of those people who feels that they can do whatever they want and here the Coop encourages you. You can treat every one the way you deem fit for them to be treated. You might also be some one who has not emotion, but just wants some "bed time" with a loving admirer. The Coop sings about it from your point of view, and gives the finger to all the pop bands who sing about how hurtful this behavior is. Finally, if you're like me, you want to be happy with some one else. Believe it or not, this song even encourages you. It says how the "other side" thinks, so you can help her away from some one who'll just hurt her in the end.

Prince of Darkness- Satanic or Christian? Christian, because it unveils the Father of Lies in the way he has always been. Evil, wicked, and hurtful. He's out to get you. Robert's riffs make for the song to be dark, good, insightful, and frightening. This is a song that should be done at Coop concerts (and everyone else's also)

Time to Kill-This is a good song, but the best. It's just an ode to life on the streets but not anything compared to Judas Priest's Breaking the Law or Black Sabbath's Johnny Blade.

Chop Chop Chop- A violent song about killing prostitutes. It's definitely a Cooper only song from the eyes of Jack the Ripper.
It is not scary, however, but it opens the door for the next two songs.

Gail- A harpsichord song that is quite dark and Phantom of the Opera-ish. Robert;s guitar solo does not do much for this song and it kind of hurts it in a way. The song itself is too short, but made up for in Roses on White Lace.

Roses on White Lace- A song of strong personal meaning to me. This is the king of all the "Hey Joe"'s and "Evil Woman"'s and "Hair of the Dog"'s. This song will not only mend your broken heart but break your happy heart. On your wedding day, this song will keep you on your toes, looking out for that stalker who would dare to hurt your wife. (DO NOT PLAY THIS SONG NEAR YOUR BRIDE/BRIDE TO BE, SHE WILL DIVORCE YOU ON THE SPOT if she's smart IT IS NOT A GOOD WEDDING SONG)

RYFAY - you're right - certainly forgotten. I think this album does dip a bit after the first 2 songs and pick up again at the end, but nothing on it is bad. Tracks 1,2, and 10 are 3 of Alice's best - Roses on White Lace - that title is SO misleading! Very Happy It's a personal favourite!

Ordinarily, I'm not much into "best" and "worst" tracks, but on this great album, I have no problem with that.

Worst - Give The Radio Back

Best - Roses On White Lace

Somebody once told me the was the first cd to be recorded DDD? Anybody know if that's true?

Roses on White Lace,,,,,holy Cooper. How can he not do that at concerts. It's so Alice,

How would you feel if the girl you love suddenly saw you headbanging to a song that has to do with cutting women up??

That's understandable. But I'm tempted to say that at the end of the day it's only music. Does it affect your enjoyent of many songs? I mean, violence is a relatively common feature of metal - hoe do you feel about songs addressing violence? Personally, the way I feel at the time of listening is devoid of any meaning regarding my song choice - hell if i was I'd be in a permanent depression. I try to treat music as something there for enjoyment. Although it can convey emotions more than anything else in my opinion, I try to keep it as being there for me to listen to - I can't risk it leting me get down again.

I know, its just that one song and Love's A Loaded Gun...there's alot said about her and I'm not saying much else.
I like the violence in Metal. I write violent lyrics. I even gave Roses on White Lace a try with my own version affectionately called "Killing You"

I'll back coop up with his assertion that it's just music, sometimes people do take things a little too far, but I also see why you wouldn't exactly have the love of your life hear that song Laughing

This was the first CD I ever bought. I already owned it on cassette and knew that I liked it, so when I bought my first CD player (outrageously priced) I re-purchased this album on CD to play on it. Remember when Cds came in those long paper-board packages, entirely covered with the album art? This was before they put them in the theft-deterrant plastic things.

Anyway, not a bad album, not the best, but not bad. Holds a special place in my metal heart.

Actually carried this CD with me when I saw the Coop with H&H, stayed in the same hotel with him, but never met him.

One of my favorite AC albums. Haven't listened to it in so long as well. Out comes the MP3 player... Smile

Still like the group better overall, but MY first album was Muscle of Love, so may be bias there.
