I just won Blackmore's Rainbow on Germany Ebay (for 8 euros inc. shipping) and am bidding on a lot of Rising, Long Live..., Rainbow Live, Between the Eyes, Bent of of Shape and the one with the Doctors on it. If I'm lucky I should be able to take the whole thing for about 20 euros. What do you guys think? PS: I love vinyl, especially imported. _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |

Got outbid on all the others, but won Rising! Looking forward to getting it. Still got to get Rainbow Live and Long Live R&R. _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |

I hope (and I'm sure) you'll win the whole discography (BTW, the LP with doctors on the cover is "Difficult To Cure", great album!)
I got all Rainbow discography both in vinyl and in CD, I love that collection (TBH, the collection is of my father... ), and I have some rare 45" too by them... what a great band!
Magic!

A little question for anyone who knows. Its about Rising.
Is there only one Remastered version out there, or are there more than one?? If there's more than one, which one has the best sound??
The reason I ask is because on my Rising cd, in the liner notes it says "Digitally remastered from the original master tapes by Dennis Drake, polygram studios, USA"
And then there's also the 1999 remasters series....
And I have read several places that these 1999 remasters series sounds so bad its better to buy an older print, not remastered, as this sounds better??
My disc is A Polydor version, with additional labelling: GEMA, Made in France by PMDC, and 823 6555-2
Is my disc a proper Remastered version, how is it compared soundwise to the other versions released of Rising ( remasters and non-remasters).. |

The remastered versions are the only ones you can get new.
I got all the Rainbow remasters and I don't see what is so bad about the songs.
My only problem with the remasters was that I wished they had some unreleased material and/or live song extras like many remasters do. |

I know, but I bought mine before 1999, so there must have been an earlier remaster series/batch... |
