Why doesn't Blackmore ever try to reunite with Dio? _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

He tried twice: one before writing Slaves And Masters with Deep Purple (then they opted for JLT); another time in '98, but Cozy Powell died (RIP). Anyway, Dio says that Ritchie stole him money for years and years, so he will never work with him again.
Magic!

I personally believe that a reunion with Blackmore at this time would be pointless...
I mean if you heard the interview of Ronnie and Iommi saying how many hours they were working so they can play together all these songs, think what will happen with Blackmore and DIO....
I don't say that i do not want to see such a reunion but i think is very difficult situation _________________ Video games are bad for you? That what they said about Rock 'n' Roll... |

By the time Dio complete the tour(s) for Magica II & III, Ronnie will be bordering seventy and as much as I hate to say this I think that that's when he'll bow out of the music business.
This leaves very little time for a Rainbow reunion however maybe something along the lines of H&H could be done. Rainbow: The Dio Years plus two/three new tracks. Then if we're lucky a short tour.
Besides Ritchie doesn't want to play rock any more and I respect that. I could maybe see him reforming Rainbow in a few years but most likely without Ronnie. |

Hey, but Candice Night is hot! And she can sing. Not only that, Blackmore's Night could be considered rock, at least I view it like that. Just more alternative than metal or psychadelic.

Blackmore's Night are without doubt a fantastic band although I only own two of their albums (The Village Lanterne and Winter Carols). I'm sure I'll buy more in the future.
I suppose they can be classified as rock to a certain extent (most notably I Guess It Doesn't Matter Any More) and are a thousand times better than some of the other crap out there. |

I was there when a fan asked Ronnie if he would reform Rainbow with Blackmore. Ronnie looked him deeply in the eyes, very serious and even a bit mean and said "NEVER!", "That's never going to happen... Never again."
I was thrilled at that moment and the fan was really touched by Ronnie's answer. Since that moment I knew I would never see the greatest singer and guitarist in the world together again... _________________ --- BURN (Dutch Heavy Metal) ---

Unfortunately the music business is run by businessmen and lawyers, not by musicians. Everybody is tied to their contracts and they can't just change them to be nice because there's some scumbag lawyer (I've worked in the business and I know) standing behind your shoulder saying "you can't do that" or "you have to pay me a ton of money to renegotiate and write the contract." These types take in the vast majority of money generated by the music business, and the artists very often hardly ever see any of it or they have to sue their management and record company to ever get paid - and guess what, the lawyers win again!
Ronnie is probably very pissed off about how he was treated and Richie may have his hands tied.
By touring under the name "Heaven and Hell" the boys were probably able to cut themselves free from a whole bunch of abusive management contracts, just like Prince touring under the symbol name instead of the name Prince which was controlled by his management (that's why he was writing the name Slave on his cheek for a while, not anything to do with being black.) _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |

great guitarist, but Dio and him don't seem to jive anymore as is evident by some of the commetns made about the relationship and the band (Rainbow) come Long Live Rock N Roll. _________________

A Rainbow-reunion would be GREAT-but I wouldn´t set a cent on it!
So I think the second-best choise is a Rainbow-stuff tour with the current DIO (the band) line up! _________________ No more night-I´ve seen the light

Well, on that Eddie Trunk radio broadcast which was aired after the Radio City Music Hall show, someone called in and asked about a Rainbow reunion.
Ronnie James Dio then broke out into a verse from "Falling Off the Edge of the World."
"Never. No, never again..." _________________ "ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA" TOUR DATES: http://www.zappa.com/zpz/tourdates.html

It was on XM Satellite radio. The show was called The Boneyard. I know Eddie Trunk has a website with tons of past interviews of other famous metal artists that you can stream for free.
The latest interview from the night of the Radio City Music Hall concert can be found on another Ronnie James Dio website called THE DIO MESSAGE BOARD. They have graciously made a nicely edited version available for fellow fans without having to register. _________________ "ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA" TOUR DATES: http://www.zappa.com/zpz/tourdates.html
