HEAVEN AND HELL — the band featuring BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, singer Ronnie James Dio, and drummer Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO) — made its U.S. live debut Friday night (March 30) at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The entire show — which featured no opening acts — was filmed/recorded for an upcoming DVD and CD, to be released before the end of the year via Rhino. The group's setlist was as follows:

01. [E5150 Intro]
02. After All (The Dead)
03. The Mob Rules
04. Children of the Sea
05. Lady Evil
06. I
07. The Sign of the Southern Cross
08. Voodoo
09. The Devil Cried
10. Appice Solo
11. Computer God
12. Falling Off the Edge of the World
13. Shadow of the Wind
14. Iommi Solo/Die Young
15. Heaven and Hell
Envore:
16. Lonely is the Word
17. Neon Knights

Check out pictures from the concert at Wire Image.

Although i cant personally complain to have such an amazing DVD
i thought that special show might have some extra classics added to the setlist ! even Ear in the Wall is not included !

On the other hand , i can totally understand and appreciate that signing 17 tough & classic songs is not an easy job to anyone ! if we put the heavy touring schedule and Dio's age , i guess i prefer having 17 songs performed at their best rather than 20 is fair enough ! after all , you cant have a setlist that would satisfy 100% of the die-hard fans around ...

cant wait to get my hands on the DVD ! Wink

I was hoping for more myself. Compared to the regular set, they added a drum solo (yawn) and a guitar solo (yawn), dropped Ear In The Wall, and added Die Young and Falling Off The Edge of The World. I still can't wait to see the band and I'll get this dvd, but I can't help but feel this one special show should have been more.

I can't really complain... There are restrictions. But Ear in the wall could've been there.

There isn't Ear In The Wall... I was hoping it was included... anyway, this DVD is going to be awesome, I'm sure!

Magic!

Does anybody know if there will be additional material on the dvd, or is it strictly the performance and that's it. Some interviews would be awesome.

Taken from a review of the rehearsal before the opening show in Vaancouver:

"Oh! I did an interview on film, supposedly for the DVD extras. We'll see. A lot of the extras for upcoming DVD including sound check were filmed here in Vancouver BC yesterday. Oh yeah they are filming DVD in NYC Radio City Music Hall. Not sure if you knew that or not."

I was inspired to return to these forums to talk about this Heaven and Hell DVD.

I recently rented it from Netflix and there it sat on my desk for a while. Finally I got up the motivation to put it in and I must say that I really enjoyed it.

The concert performance was for the most part excellent, and it amazes me how well it was produced. Everything looked and sounded amazing on stage.

I was into Dehumanizer as a teenager and I really never thought these guys would be together so long after that album came out to do a tour.

The extra features were really fun to watch. I always get a kick out of stuff like that and I really enjoyed the behind the scenes footage and that these guys were able to get back together and make it work.

Seeing this DVD recently inspired me to put Dehumanizer in my car cd player on the way to work today.

I love it. These songs all gave me goosebumps again!

After ALL
Sins of the Father
Computer God

Dio is DIO. Unbelievable as usual.

NOBODY has ever TRULY covered DIO! ha!

I anxiously await the new Black Sabbath CD with Dio. If that's really happenin', I'm all over it!
