All 3 are certainly classics, but Rising swings it for me, possibly as it was the first one I bought way back in 1979 as a mere 16 year old.... there isn't one bad or even average track on any of those albums - a measure of the phenomenal talent involved in making them!

I think Rising is veeeeeeeeeeeeeery overrated album. First one is much better imho. The songs are more memorable.

Gotta be Rising, if for nothing else but the cover art Cool
It is also a musically superior album and is perhaps my favourite of all time. Just a shame it was so short. But then I'd rather less material if it means it's much better musically.

Rising

"Gates of Babylon" from the third Rainbow album is a masterpiece, but Rising has "Stargazer" and "A Light in the Black." Those two songs definitely put Rising in first place for me.

Although this will sound like sacrilege to fellow Rainbow fans, I cannot stand the song "Long Live Rock 'n Roll." If I have to hear that song one more time, I might have to strangle someone. Laughing

Not sacrilege at all. I'm sick of it myself. I wish Ronnie didn't feel like he had to do that at every single show. That's why this H&H thing is such a breath of fresh air.

Rising - no doubts - it's one of the best hard rock albums ever!

Magic!

Why Rising? and why no doubts? It's amazing album but I could never understand why it is considered as better than RB's Rainbow Question

I love all Rainbow albums, but Rising is my favourite one, I don't know why... it's one of my favourite hard rock albums, ever! All musicians' work, in that album, is perfect, nothing isn't perfect in Rising.
If someone would ask me my three favourite Rainbow albums, I'd ask: 1. Rising 2. RB's Rainbow 3. Stranger In Us All

Magic!

Can anybody explains me please the difference between the "Live in Germany 1976" album with the "Live in Europe" album, because unless i am blind there is no difference.
Is it something like a remastered album ?

I hae to confess, I'm kinda sick of "Long Live R'N'R" too, just too many listens and repetition. In the live setting it works tho, good fist raiser.

Live in Europe was the American Edition,Live in Germany the european.
They have a different artwork.
Both are sampled by 3 concerts in Ger.1976.
The complete concerts were released last year/this year as 3 double cd´s or a complete box-set(only Japan).
The difference is only the artwork.
