The problem is that Ronnie has been into 2 great bands before he starts his solo career and that affected his career.

When i ask people in my country if they know DIO, the most common answer i get is "The Sabbath guy?" or "The Rainbow guy?".

I believe that if he was started his own band from the early beginning he would be much more famous than he is now

I will mention Dio for some reason and whoever will say, "who's that?" I ask, "you've never heard of Ronnie James Dio?" "No" is thier reply 9 times out of 10.

So then I feel the need to educate. "Have you heard of Black Sabbath?" They always assume that means Ozzy.

Very Happy , Yes that's true, and not very fair...

But if you think about Tony Martin, I think he has received the worst part. Nearly no Media make any Comments about him when it comes to speak about Metal or Black Sabbath History.

Its funny how people remember history, Ozzy didnt leave Sabbath, He got the boot! He was replaced by the only man that could take the job and be accepted. Ask everyone else who followed.

Ozzy is the kind of guy that no matter how big of idiot he was, he was always going to get lucky and do well. He was washed up, and Sharon decided to make a name for herself by using him, Then of course Rhandy walked into the picture and revived his carreer. None of which was his own doing, with exception to him getting great publicity over his shocking behavior. I have heard numerous stories of other people writing his songs, and somehow he still has radical fans that love him. He's the Metal version of American Idol for God sakes! Everything about him has been manufactured. I just dont get it. Dio on the other hand has always been a class act. You definately dont listen to him talk and think he's an idiot, and he writes his own stuff. Theres really no comparison.

Sounds like you are...

I love this version of Dio by Tenacious D... Jack Black gives the audience a little education...

Its really the record industries fault. They have traded artists for manufactured crap. Most people are drones who follow the masses. record companies flood the radio with throw away bands and Pop stars, telling the world that this stuff is the best thing out. The drones buy into it. twenty years from now there wont be big reunion concerts from these people because there fans will have moved on and no one will care.

To qoute Manowar

Those who laugh and crowd the path, will cut each others throats, and fall like melting snow. Then we'll laugh, and they will kneel, and know this heart of steel was to hard to break, to hard to hold.

the problem is I can ask who Zeppelin is and get a response. Same with Maiden and Priest an Sabbath. But no Dio, Motorhead, Iommi, most people think AC DC's a rap band, Alice Cooper, *(hell, one guy asked if Alice was a go-go dancer Evil or Very Mad ) GNR is hard to find sometimes.....WTF?

Long Live Rock and Roll. We fucking need it more than we need math or history or English

You know what pisses me off?
Some days ago a "classmate" asked me what I was listening to, I said AC/DC and he said, "What the ..., grow up man, we live in the 21st cetury!" Evil or Very Mad
You know I really wanted to beat this guy up then but the teacher showed up ...
