I'd like to talk a little bit more about hooking up with GG and D-man about swapping files and recording from distant locations.

Damn it why do you have to live so far away, i like your vocal work i need to find a guy like you to do some vocal tracks for me. |

This is 2007, all you need is Pro-Tools and email.
I learned to sing listening to Dio! |

I know i need to get up to date, i'm still stuck with the old ways which i do enjoy, the best part of making a good sound is placing the mic just so and all that, but with a vocal track it is easier as long as the track is tight and clean then i can add all the reverb echo delays or whatever in the mix down. I need to learn the info and get busy with it. |

The great thing about Pro-Tools is that you can manipulate the sound. It helps if your studio doesnt have the greatest acoustics. Its actually pretty easy to use also. I just have an M-Box withLE software. I originally got it so I could take sessions home from the studio to play around with them. It doesnt have enough inputs for drums, its really only good for single instruments or vocals. Once you have the tracks in the computer though it does wonders. |

| I have been playing bass guitar (and singing backup ala Pete Way) for over 30 years. I'm no expert, but I record on my PC using SEKD. As far as I know, you could email me a MP3 song file, I could record a bass track and send it back to you as an MP3 which you could rip and past on your Protools. Let me know if there's a track you want some kicking bass for (let's face it - a guitarist playing the bass is not the same as a bassist). Let's do a few RJD board songs! |

I need to learn how to do all that stuff, and you're right nothing beats having a good bass player do the bass tracks. I'll start doing my homework...the wife likes the idea. I gotta learn how to post my stuff on the web, i have material in the wifes PC at home and everything, the rest is on the recorder hard drive in the studio and on some backup discs. |

| You could post your songs on soundclick.com, or at least the final result. But as far as I know, you could send me an MP3 file of your mixed song minus bass. I could rip it to a WAV CD file using free music-match software, record my bass part, turn that track into an MP3, send it to you, you can rip that one and cut and past onto your tracks. I think it will be easier than it sounds. Think it will work? Dave. tacomadc@yahoo.com |

The main thing is getting the actual Wav file to the person doing the final mix for quality sake. MP3 can be used to email the song to each person for reference, practice and recording, but the individual track from each person would have to be put on a CD and mailed. That way its in its original format, which would be to big to email. GG hasnt posted yet, Im interested in what he thinks about the whole thing. _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

| WAV files can be turned into MP3's and vice versa very easily using the convert function of Music Match. I think the sound quality would be plenty fine, especially for only a couple tracks of the song. |

Started writing some lyrics, Since we're talking about this in the RJD forum, I thought it would be fun to write something in a melodic Dio style. Tell me what you think
VERSE
Every time I see the sun shine
It makes me wonder just how long
Will it burn
And when I feel the earth below me
I feel the power
and the forceThat makes it turn
When ever I feel a cool breeze
Screaming through the night
With lessons to be learned
CHORUS
I’m living a dream
I’m still chasing the rainbows
Each time the wind blows
I’m living a dream
And I pray I won’t wake up
I don’t want to face tomorrow _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

Nice lyrics. Powerful stuff. Got any music? I'm hearing a bit of tempo of "Metal Gods" by Priest a bit faster. |

Hell yeah im interested! This sounds exciting as hell! I gotta do some home work and crash corse this to get rolling, my vocals suck compared to what your doing, I think it would be neet to do a project involving only people from here in this forum! Even if it was just a song or two.
There's a lot going on here right now i gotta leave town for a few days so give me some time but i will do some home-work on how to do this. There is a data port on the back of my recorder so there's got to be a way. _________________ GUITARGOD |

Basically if you can get a guitar track onto a CD, you can convert it to mp3 and email it. we can go from there. _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

I can cram a handful of guitar tracks on A cd and you could choose the one you like best, the best way for me would be to run in twos like a rythm and lead track in a left and right split or something. _________________ GUITARGOD |
