I'd like to talk a little bit more about hooking up with GG and D-man about swapping files and recording from distant locations.

The great thing about Pro-Tools is that you can manipulate the sound. It helps if your studio doesnt have the greatest acoustics. Its actually pretty easy to use also. I just have an M-Box withLE software. I originally got it so I could take sessions home from the studio to play around with them. It doesnt have enough inputs for drums, its really only good for single instruments or vocals. Once you have the tracks in the computer though it does wonders. |

| You could post your songs on soundclick.com, or at least the final result. But as far as I know, you could send me an MP3 file of your mixed song minus bass. I could rip it to a WAV CD file using free music-match software, record my bass part, turn that track into an MP3, send it to you, you can rip that one and cut and past onto your tracks. The main thing is getting the actual Wav file to the person doing the final mix for quality sake. MP3 can be used to email the song to each person for reference, practice and recording, but the individual track from each person would have to be put on a CD and mailed. That way its in its original format, which would be to big to email. GG hasnt posted yet, Im interested in what he thinks about the whole thing.

| WAV files can be turned into MP3's and vice versa very easily using the convert function of Music Match. I think the sound quality would be plenty fine, especially for only a couple tracks of the song. |

Hell yeah im interested! This sounds exciting as hell! I gotta do some home work and crash corse this to get rolling, my vocals suck compared to what your doing, I think it would be neet to do a project involving only people from here in this forum!  Even if it was just a song or two.
There's a lot going on here right now i gotta leave town for a few days so give me some time but i will do some home-work on how to do this. There is a data port on the back of my recorder so there's got to be a way.

Basically if you can get a guitar track onto a CD, you can convert it to mp3 and email it. we can go from there.

I can cram a handful of guitar tracks on A cd and you could choose the one you like best, the best way for me would be to run in twos like a rythm and lead track in a left and right split or something.
