This isn't really a Dio thread, but I'm curious what you guys think of the post Dio Sabbath records. I've only heard Born Again, which had some pretty heavy tracks. What about Headless Cross? Can anybody list their favorites (or least favorites) from this period? Thanks.

Born Again with Ian Gillan is awsome but the production was awfull.

The Eternal Idol albem is defintly worth a listen

Forbidden is ok

The Headless Cross is pretty good.

trust sabbath is mostley only worth listning to with Ozz or Dio other than that nothin really speceil in the song writing any way but still alot of tallent.

the stuff right after Dio was terrible....Born Again and Seventh Star both suck major ass. However, once Tony Martin was brought on, things got good (minus Forbidden). Here are my favourites from each Martin album:

Eternal Idol:
Glory Ride
Hard Life To Love
The Shining
Nightmare

Headless Cross:
Headless Cross
When Death Calls
Black Moon
Kill In The Spirit World

TYR:
The Law Maker (Awesome Solo)
Valhalla
The Sabbath Stones
Heaven In Black

Cross Purposes:
I Witness
Cross Of Thorns
The Hand That Rocks The Cradle
What's The Use

Forbidden:
Nothing

you get your hands on those songs and you'll be in good shape.

My favourite Post-Dio Sabbath album is The Eternal Idol but I love all the other albums too. Well, if I'm not wrong, nobody here talked about Seventh Star, the Sabbath album with Hughes... it's a great (and underated) album, with some heavy blues inside... I can't belive it's so underated! Very Happy

Magic!

I only own Born Again (hoping to get Seventh Star soon) but for me it is second only to Heaven & Hell. Better than Paranoid in fact. Such a shame Gillan didn't stick around......

I think Born Again is the only one worthy of the Sabbath name.

I do enjoy Eternal Idol and 7th Star, but they sound more like 80's arena rock. Some good stuff, but not up to Sabbath billing. I guess Headless Cross has a few decent tunes. I think TYR and Cross Purposes are mostly weak. Forbidden is really, really, awful. Just dreadful.
