Im sure this topic has been done before I just couldnt find it.

I saw Dio on the Sacred Heart tour in August of 84. My friend and I Hitch hiked to the show at Pine Knob in Clarkston MI, about an hour drive. We left early so we could make it, but got a ride right away, all the way there. So we were at the gate at about 3 in the afternoon. We were just standing there waiting for the gates to open 4 hrs later. About an hour into our wait I saw a golf cart coming through the main area on the other side of the gate. It was carrying RJD to his radio interview. I started climbing on the gate and screaming DIO!!! He stopped Smiled and shot out the most famous hand jesture in Rock history. I was 14 at the time and can still remember it like it was yesterday. That was still the greatest concert I've ever been to.

That's the one great thing about Dio - he unites the generations. First saw him with Rainbow in 1976 (yes I'm an old tart Laughing Laughing)

I was at both Spectrum shows that were filmed. I am in the first one.

I saw Dio once more in the late 80's, But when he reunited with Sabbath in 92, I was working on my own music career so I missed the show both times it hit Detroit. The second show I was actually playing a mile from the Fox theater where they appeared. So 23 years after my first Dio Concert Im finally going to get to see him with Sabbath. Cant wait for the new experience.

I first saw Dio live June 7th, 2002 in San Antonio. He was the opener on a co-headlining Deep Purple/Scorpions show. I got to see him again the next year when he and Motorhead opened for Iron Maiden. Since then I managed to see two headlining shows of his in Austin and Corpus Christi in 2004. Of the four, the Corpus Christi show in 2004 was the best

Here is another discrepancy in the VH1 special on HH. When I saw Dio the last time, I beleive it was on Lock up the Wolves, Geezer was playing with him. Malmsteen was the opener. In the special they said that Geezer just showed up at one of his shows in NY and jammed with the band after not seeing him for 12 yrs. Im not crazy I know he played with him before that.
