What's your favorite Dio album. Mine was Last in Line until I heard Strange Highways. That whole album rocks!!!!

Obscene, you rock!
Strange Highways is my fave, too! Effin' HEAVY!!!
Ronnie sounds pissed off as Hell, and the entire recording has a huge, live sound. But it seems this album gets so much criticism for being so unlike past Dio records. I tell you, if SH was just released now, I'll bet everyone would be blown away. It's like metal getting a shot of adrenaline again. |

I don't know man... I mean, you know, the first that comes to my head is Holy Diver thinking "Shit, this album rocks"...
Then we are faced with the Last in Line... and i think "Shit man this album rocks too"....
Then is Strange Highways...or Magica or whatever...
I just can't name one as my favorite... I can name you my favorite artist though
But i think this is the reason we are all here, right?? _________________ Video games are bad for you? That what they said about Rock 'n' Roll... |

| My favourite is Dream Evil with Last in Line coming close in the second place and Holy Diver in the 3rd place.Strange Highways in my opinion is a weak effort comparing with the first 4 albums.I never liked Tracy G. style of playing.Angry Machines is the worst R.J.Dio album ever without a doubt.I don't understand what was in Ronnie's mind when he choose Tracy G. as his lead guitarist!!!I saw them live a few times and listen to some other Dio/Tracy G. bootlegs and the guy is destroying the original solos of some classic Dio songs.Maybe he tried to be original, but the fans never accepted him. |

Hey Rhino, cool avitar...
Anyway, aside from the the obvious like HD, as far as Dio albums, I think my fav is LUTW and MOTM. I love the song Evil on Queen Street so much it's crazy....
I really haven't heard Strange Highways much because I play other stuff to death and really only listen in my truck, so I will listen to it some more. My truck has a 6 cd changer with Mob Rules, Dehuminzer, LUTW, HD Live, Elf collection and Rainbow Rising. I'll have to swap one out... _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

Aw, thanks, DD! It's just me standing in front of 2 Modigliani paintings.
One of the things I love about Dio is the differences in each album. I play whatever fits my mood. Tracy G is no less a player in my book than anyone else, has his own style which adds color to the albums he's on, and frankly, I think it's unfair to compare them to each other. |

Holy Diver!!! for 2 reasons
1) Stand up and Shout!!!
2) My all time favorite guitar solo in Rainbow in the Dark
The whole Heaven and Hell reunion is really cool since my second choice would be Heaven and Hell, But just Imagine the Return of Vivian to Dio. How awsome would that be!!! _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

Mines gotta be Last in Line, but not for the tracks like We Rock and the title track. But for the songs, Evil Eyes and Breathless. I just love the energy and power in these songs. Especially the pre-chorus in Evil Eyes, and the heavy breathing at the start of breathless. Havnt heard these songs talked about much though. Magica is probably second, love every song on here. Angry machines is better than i expected, and this is your life is an ace song! _________________ If I speak at one constant volume. at one constant pitch. at one constant rhythm.

Magica is my favorite Dio album!
I really like the concept idea and the music is very good. _________________ You're Breathless, ready to burn

| Ive always enjoyed Dio's lyrics. I first got hooked on his work after hearing Heaven and Hell in its entirity. Ever since then his music carried me threw my high school years back in the 1980s. Far and away Holy Diver is his best solo work then The Last in Line. After that his music seemed to start lagging but he always put on a great concert. I was able to meet Mr Dio backstage at the Concord Pavilion on the tour for Lock up the Wolves. If you ever get the chance to meet him up close and face to face, hes a very short man but he is a very outgoing person and very talkitive. |

| As far as solo works, Holy Diver is clearly his best. It's the only one that is absolutely without a doubt filler-free. Every other album has at least one weak spot. |

Well, filler is a subjective term.
I will say this, Shame On The Night is such an awesome song, it carries the rest of HD. |
