Some of the lyrics but they are what I consider a cry baby band. Musically wise, not a talented musician in the lot.

my brother used to listen to them,but i'm no fan,all of there songs are drama and the same,like HIM too(no fan of them either but my brother is),all of there songs are about death and love and about someone that broke his heart BLA...BLA...BLA... 
i just don't find muself open to new bands,is that wrong ???  |

nope, its not wrong. I dont like new groups either. I am not a Staind fan but i like some songs.

they have some very well put together songs...
some melody...

they are a very good band...

Despite your somewhat distracting use of trailing periods, you really have more wisdom than I think you get credit for, HiddenSight. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Betty liking Staind, just as you point out. It's music. It's art. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe a lot of us on the forums, myself included, could come up with several reasons why we don't like this band, but that doesn't mean that if Betty finds something to like, that she'd be wrong to ignore these things that I dislike.
This issue of one person finding something to like about a certain music, and another person finding something to dislike, and the two points of view butting against each other (and all the repurcussions that follow), is a really important one in our culture, and...well I think I could write a whole paper about it, but I won't do that here. Bottom line is there has never been a single piece of music in all the history of time that every single person alive has found pleasing. To each his (or her) own. Take every opinion with the proverbial grain of salt, etc etc.

they're a local band, so I give them some props, and I do like a song or two, but they wear and tear at your ability to listen after a couple of times through a disc. I'd say older you go, the better.
