Will Dio ever make a concert in the middle east?because i live in Jordan and i don't want to lose hope. Roger Waters went to Lebanon and i'm not sure but i think Iron Maiden came or will come to Dubai, so why can't Dio come to too?(or has he came without me knowing)?  |

I think the nearest place to you that DIO went was Greece....

To me I feel that it is just not smart to go to places where there is a lot of civil unrest. Who could say if someone was offended by some lyrics and decided to turn themself into a suicide bomb and kill a lot of fans?
Since there has not been such a thing that has happened so far, it might be thought of as a way for some group to make a statement
Sadly the world is not a safe place anymore

You really should travel more the middle east is not a total war zone  ...Dio played in Israel there was NO suicide bombers at the gig....Dio even played in Belfast...your post is an offence to all the members from the middle east...not all of them are probable bombers
Really I am shocked at your statement...its shows ignorance from you....and any member thinking of joining your board from the Middle east...may think twice now.....what a stupid thing to say . If I was admin over in diomessageboard..I would not be happy with you  |

All it takes is ONE lunatic to set off a bomb.
There was NOTHING in what I said that even suggested that ANYONE on this board would be so insane. But when you think about the area of the world you were speaking about, take some time to look around that same area and you will see a good deal of trouble that would cause prudent people to avoid being a part of the situation IF they can.
I'm sorry that I expressed an OPINION and overlooked that all you really wanted was some ass kissing.

Do you know where Jordan is on the map...do you know the size of area we are talking about...thats like saying don't go to Scotland becoz its in the same area as Northern Ireland...its very offensive!
I don't want ass kissing as you put it...but I do want is some consideration for all fans around the world...there is no borders in this forum...or passport control...everyone is the same.
You got lunatics everywhere not just in the Middle East,....hey just this week...one was caught in UK...for sending letter bombs.
Bombers are not just exclusive to the Middle East.
And Terrorists fighting for their cause are everywhere...and you will find a lot of them are British.

its really becoming very boring to talk about this issue over and over again i guess !
Well , iam a muslim , my nationality is Egyptain and i currently live and work in Dubai - United Arab Of Emirates ( lived there a big part of life already).
1st. Yes , Maiden will be performing this year along with bands like Robert Planet , Incubus , In Flames and more bands at this year Dubai's rock festival ! last year i was lucky to catch MegaDeth , Testament , Reel Big fish and 3 doors down !
Last wednesday i was at Roger water's concert , ive seen Jethro tull a couple of years back and artists like Shakaria , Sting , Elton john , Bryan Adams , Aerosmith and just countless artists are flying here almost everysingle month as part of their world tour !
2. Is the United Arab Of Emirates safe ? well the answer will be probably stupied , yet i can simply ensure everyone here that its WAY more than the United States in you want to make a comparsion in the first place ! and i mean wayyyy more ( just check any crime rate or safest cities or countries statistics !! ive been to 6 european countries before Italy , Germany, Switherland , Greece ,Austria and France and again Dubai is as safe if not more secure than alot of the countries ive been too !
3.Dubai hold over 150 different country populations from all around the world , different races , different religions , different everything , yet everyone is living and interacting with one another within a very safe , respectable and dicmoractic territory ...
4.Reem , no .. we dont look at tall hair people as Satanists and i can ensure you this because i simply have alot of friends that do have long hair , in Dubai and in Egypt as well !
Stereotyping the whole middle east by saying thats its a dangerous war zone is simply as naive as saying that the US is not a safe place ! i mean which place exactly ? the US is bigger than the whole European countries , there are cities which are extremely safe and others which are not ,and the same goes within different sectors of different states and cities !

i know you are right Ironman, and i have a lot of muslim friends that listen to metal and long hair guys,but i think it's wrong that the teachers here(of islamic religion)are giving the bad idea about them, and sadly all the girls in my class go with it, but i think this is just here, because in Lebanon and Egypt and a lot of the middle east countries don't have such a thing, so tell me have you heard of such thing , because if you didn't maybe i can tell my friends that they are wrong and it's OK for men to mhave long hair.do you have long hair??    |

hehehe iam almost bald my friend ,and i have to tell you that
i truly belive that metal has nothing to do with long or short hair !
i think its another misconceptions related to our lovable music !
I can understand where your point of view comes from , i dont think teachers are giving a bad idea about long hair being related to satanics and metal , its more because you're not supposed to look like a girl at the very end of the day , same goes to women of course( they dont have to look like boys) personally i belive in that 100% and even if i had a good hair quality i wouldnt have elongated my hair ! still , and as i told you , this is my OWN opinion and beliefs , i dont justify people by the way they look , nor their colour or religion ! i have friends from everywhere and iam proud to do so !

With all the religious topics that DIO sings about, I think it's prudent that he avoid hot beds where trouble happens from religious zealots
Even in the U.S.A. many show have a load of religious crazies who are all riled up and harass people both before and after the show. For just one of these crazies to think that they can make a difference is just scarey.
And usually it is the nuts with short hair who are the problem
