There is also talks of the original Led Zeppelin band getting together (with Bonham's son playing drums). Not much on this yet, but if I hear more I'll def. be getting back to you guys.

I'm skeptical myself as they've said they'd never play again unless the whole band were togetehr which we know is impossible.

As for the albums, I like all of them (more or less) but the last two...

Go thecoop, i totally agree with everything you said about Led Zeppelin ...

You know something ? I just get bored with all this Robert Plant legend and Led Zeppelin legend and the fact that whatever poll you look you will find them at the top Rock bands and at the top Rock vocalists(Plant)

Come one i can think many singers better than Plant.

A friend of mine told me that he has just read on a newspaper of Milan that Led Zeppelin are going to reform with this line-up: Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Jon Paul Jones and Bonham's son!!!!
I don't know if this is official, anyway, on this newspaper, there was written this...
if it's true this would be fantastic!!!!! This year we would have a Van Halen reunion, a Sabbath reunion with Ronnie (Heaven And Hell, of course) and a Zeppelin reunion!

Magic!

That would be a dream come true but I wouldn't get my hopes up considering they've tried to reform a few times and each time it ended up not happening Sad

I am very skeptical about this considering the news hasn't come from anyone actually involved but I think this time it might just happen:

Rock legends Led Zeppelin will reportedly reunite for a one-off memorial concert in honor of their late record boss.

If true, it would mark the third time that the '70s legends have played since disbanding. The band has only performed a handful of concerts, since their split in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham. But singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside Bonham's son Jason for a special concert in memory of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.

A source says, "Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date."

"And no one can quite believe it, but during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out."

"It has been hoped for and denied for years. But this is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour. The feeling is that this is going to happen next year."

Ertegun died in December after seven weeks in a coma following a fall at a Rolling Stones concert. The likes of Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, and Crosby, Stills & Nash all played his New York memorial in April of this year.

Well I kinda expected this...........

Robert Plant has shot down reports that LED ZEPPELIN will reunite for a one-off memorial concert in honor of their late record company boss.

A report was published earlier in the week suggesting that Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside John Bonham's son Jason for a special concert in memory of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.

A source was quoted as saying, "Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date.

"And no one can quite believe it, but during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out.

"It has been hoped for and denied for years. But this is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour. The feeling is that this is going to happen next year."

Speaking at a press conference for the upcoming Rockwave festival — which is scheduled to be held June 29, June 1 and June 3 in Athens, Greece — Plant insisted that he hadn't heard anything about the rumored ZEPPELIN reunion and jokingly added, "If there was one, then there wouldn't be enough doctors to support it!"

Ertegun died in December 2006 after seven weeks in a coma following a fall at a ROLLING STONES concert.

A friend of mine writes for an Italian Hard'n'Heavy Metal magazine called "Metal Shock" and he told me that the reunion is true and that Led Zeppelin are going to play on the main Arenas all around Europe next Summer... they'll come to the Olimpic Stadium too!
Personally, I really hope that it's true... I'd surely see them and it would be my dream coming true.

i used to give all 4 members of zep, fairly well equal credit... but after having watched the 2-dvd offering, and having listened to the 'how the west was one' collection, i'm of the opinion now that bonham was what really made that band...

jones was a great bassist, page had a distinctive style (and some great chops here and there)... plant was a great showman...

but bonham really drove those guys... no wonder they broke up when he died... there was no replacing him...

my favorite is perhaps, 'the wanton song,' or 'the rover' from physgraf...

in any event they're now human, whereas 25 or 30 years ago i'd thought them godlike...

and the folk stuff is like, 'whatever'...

Zepplein were a great band in the studio but compared to Deep Puplre live they were just not in the same league.
Plant was defintly the weak link of the band live.

The surviving members of LED ZEPPELIN have confirmed they will reform for a special show at London's 22,000-capacity O2 arena on Monday, November 26 as part of a tribute to Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died last December.

Tickets cost £125 each (approximately $254) and will be allocated on a lottery basis through the Ahmettribute.com web site. Names will be chosen at random. There will be seating and standing tickets and fans will be able to express a preference at the web site.

Due to expected unprecedented demand, tickets will be limited to two per successful applicants per household.

Tickets will not be available from any other source. Please do not take adverts or publicise any company who claims to have tickets. They will not be given any.

Profits will benefit the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides scholarships to universities in the United States, United Kingdom and Ertegun's homeland, Turkey.

The bill also includes PETE TOWNSHEND, BILL WYMAN & THE RHYTHM KINGS, FOREIGNER and PAOLO NUTINI.

Founding members Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals) and John Paul Jones (bass) will be joined by Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, on drums.

Robert Plant said in a statement: "During the ZEPPELIN years, Ahmet Ertegun was a major foundation of solidarity and accord. For us he WAS Atlantic Records and remained a close friend and conspirator — this performance stands alone as our tribute to the work and the life of our long-standing friend."

Mica Ertegun, Ahmet's wife and president of The Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, commented: "Ahmet attributed his success to his excellent education, and his ability to recognize innovative artists that touched us all. It was his wish to endow music and liberal Arts scholarships that would enable gifted children to reach their highest creative potential. The Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund was founded with that goal. He would be very proud that LED ZEPPELIN have chosen to reunite and headline a benefit concert in his name featuring so many of his friends. I would like to thank all of the artists for their generous contribution to help make Ahmet's vision a reality."

Mick Jones of FOREIGNER stated: "Ahmet's combination of charm, humour, irreverence and above all his great passion for music made getting to know him one of the brightest highlights of my life."

Paolo Nutini: "Meeting Ahmet Ertegun in New York two years ago was a complete honor. He touched my life with his amazing personality and opened a few doors when I was starting my career. He even invited me to sing with Ben E King and Robert Plant at Montreux last year as part of a celebration of his musical life. He was a special guy, a real gentleman and it's such a shame he's gone but a massive tribute that all his music lives on — and will do forever. God bless Ahmet."

ZEPPELIN reformed for Live Aid in 1985 with Phil Collins on drums. Page and Plant have played together sporadically since then. A further — brief — reformation occurred at Atlantic Records' 40th anniversary bash in New York in 1988 with Jason Bonham on drums.

Three weeks prior to ZEP's O2 show, Jimmy Page will be honoured as the Living Legend at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour, Classic Rock magazine’s third annual award show. This year the awards will take place on Monday, November 5 at London’s prestigious Landmark Hotel.

ZEPPELIN's O2 show is being organized by legendary promoter Harvey Goldsmith.

Commented Goldsmith: "Ahmet introduced me to America when I first started promoting. He became a friend and was my mentor. Our industry deeply misses such a giant of music. It is a fitting tribute that these great artists have all come together to perform in his memory. The proceeds of the evening will go to The Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund for student scholarships. One of these scholarships will be for a music student in the UK each year."

Bill Curbishley of Trinifold management added: "To have had Ahmet regard me as one of his close friends over the past 40 years was indeed a rare privilege. To be involved in setting up this event, plus a music trust in his name and in his spirit is also a great honour and privilege for me."

I hope you're jokking.
They created, together with Deep Purple and a few other bands, Hard Rock. They wrote some unbeliveble songs. Every member of the band was more than a great musician! Robert Plant is one of the best singers ever, he's old now and he got the same voice as 35 years ago. Page, according to me, is the best Hard Rock guitarist ever together with Ritchie Blackmore... he created some solos noone else could create and, when they were live, he could improvvise awesome solos for hours!!!!!!!
Led Zeppelin are the masters of Hard Rock, there are NO bad albums by that band.
Concerning the news posted by Magica Dragon, I read that on an Italian web site too and I'm excited by the news!!!!!! I hope they'll confirm their tour across Europe on Summer '08... it would be another of my dreams come true!

I'm still kinda doubtful of a tour. If they do it won't even be considered till after this show. They could be absoloutely awful (in fact probably).
I still wanna go though lol. I can't even get onto the site at the moment.....................god knows how many people are on it.
