it's a magnifiscent, splendid, meaningfull and great song. but when Dio sings:
Don't dream of women , because they only bring you down.
what's so wrong with women , i'm a woman (well girl actually) and i'm not trying to bring anyone down.
I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS EVER...

There could be a lot to what he is saying... The way I see it when he says "Don't DREAM of women" the term dream could very well sugest to keep your feet on the ground and not to get your heart broken over a chick that is not to be yours for what ever reason... ok this is odd this hits way too close to home hahaha anyway That's my view of it, the same thing has happend to me numerous times throughout my life and it can seem to crush the crap out of you. Confused

The task of saying a lot with few words can leave just enough gap in meaning to leave losts of room for each person to find his or her own meaning in a song that fits their lives rather well! Wink

It is absolutely one of my all time favorite RJD songs.

Aside from what he is singing about, because we could go on forever, I love the way his voice starts out so soft and smooth, then gradually builds and gets stronger and harder and the music get more intense, and then as he sings, 'protect your soul', the drums and his voice getting stronger and stonger...until..until.....bam!, back to the soft beauty of his voice, getting softer and softer, then he hits you again with a powerful ending....

To me, it is perfection from beginning to end.... Cool Cool Cool .

I don't totally get the lyrics, but the music rocks.

great track, musically, lyrically all culminates to oen of ym favorite Dio sogns ever. The beginning of acoustic-ness just leads the mood to the subject and BOOM! you're knocked off the floor. masterful, only word for it.

It was my 4 y/o's favorite song (I turn down the part about not going to heaven...I could just hear her in preschool telling her mormon teacher not to go to heaben betuz its weelly only hell, but she may say, "Don't smell doze flowows, dey're an ebil drud to mate you lose your mind!") but now it's Shame on the Night. She has good taste.

Diodreams...why not let your daughter hear the part about ''going to heaven'' Confused
I would love to see the teacher's face...hell I would pay good money to see the teacher's face.... Laughing
Catholic schools,Mormon schools,Muslim schools...why can't the kids just mix together....I was forced fed God at school and at home....and look what happened to me Laughing
With my own daughter...I left it up to her decide.. ....now she is like most women her age a member of the church of Harvey Nicols[a huge branded clothes shop] Laughing

I started turning it down because at her age, she can't grasp that what may seem to be 'heaven' may in fact be 'hell'. I do want her to decide, and not because Ronnie is telling her either because she would take him litterally...even though she doesn't know what heaven or hell are anyway.

But you're right, it would be funny as hell to see her teachers face Laughing .
