I hope as you so 'gracefully' put it I do eat my words, incidently, I was asking a question not making a statement, I did not say ronnie would not re-create the magic, I was merely asking the question, because bobby history suggests that re-unions ARE VERY RARELY SUCCESSFUL that is fact, which is precisely why Richie Blackmore won't do it. You seem to think i don't want success for 'heaven and hell', well your wrong, I want Ronnie to succeed, but I am a realist and not a fantasist, history is stacked against them. Have I ever said they won't succeed..?..no i have not...have i ever asked why Ronnie has chosen to do this project at this stage of his career,,?..yes i have...and theres nothing wrong with asking that question, and i'll ask it to his face too..and do you know what..?..his reply will be polite...someting you could learn from ronnie BUDDY..!! |

It would have been presumptuous to refer to the Man in Black as the greatest hard rock guitarist prior to Deep Purple in Rock. _________________ The Legendary Remorseless Crusader Almighty

Since I've seen DIO and Sabbath with RJD, I'd love to see Rainbow. Those first 3 Rainbow albums are hard to beat, and the current releases of Rainbow with DIO shows are incredible.

personally I believe a 'RAINBOW RE-UNION would create phenominal interest within the metal music industry, simply because of the magical music created during that special time, the music was ahead of its time, far more than the dio led sabbath era, rainbow were fresh, mythical, different and magical..they took you to another mystical world....who cannot be mesmerised by 'STARGAZER' AND 'CATCH THE RAINBOW'...hang on a minute, is this me 'looking back' ..?...blimey..!! |
I guess you're doing nothing wrong here. How can we be Dio fans without ever looking back, when there's so much to look back on...?
Still I doubt whether a Rainbow reunion, unreal as it is, but let's just think about it... I doubt whether they would be able to re-create that magic here and now. It WAS a special time, and it's been long gone. I guess that re-uniting the band who created the magic wouldn't make their songs any better than they are already. Dio-Rainbow was an entirely different animal than Dio-Sabbath or Dio-Dio.
Each time I watch the Rainbow 77 DVD I have to hold back my tears because I was there. But putting the same guys back together on stage now won't bring Rainbow back.
 |
FANTASTIC POST AND THAT MY FRIEND IS EXACTLY RIGHT, SO CAN RONNIE AND FRIENDS RE-CREATE THE MAGIC WITH HEAVEN AND HELL..? |
I honestly don't know. The Dio-Rainbow lineup never got a chance to prove their innovative potential, but the upcoming band, whatever they call themselves, has already done so once. Dehumanizer was a quintessentially modern record for its time. So my hopes rest on the new songs again. I do not really expect them to re-create the magic of the 80's so I won't be too disappointed I hope they will create something new. I'm sure Ronnie and Tony do have more on their minds with this reunion than just to rehash a couple of old records out of nostalgia. Both are ingenious artists and they will have created something beyond that. Let's see!

| A Rainbow or Dio/Feinstein reunion would have far greater potential for greatness than either Heaven & Hell or Dio. |
Who or what is Feinstein? |
David Feinstein is Ronnie's cousin. They played together in Elf. |
Elf. And you think an Elf reunion has far greeater potential for greatness than Ronnie with his Black Sabbath mates? Are you on crack? |
No, he is technically on meth not crack. Many fans have never seen Elf perform. They are missing out. Think of all the new Dio fans who never got to see him peform as Elf. They will never have those magical moments and thus their life will never be complete. They will walk the earth a shell of a metal fan. Never a whole being. Dio the band and H&H the Project can both be put hold for this. I mean they both will still exist and will continue to write material so those fans will not be ignored. _________________ Smacks & Manly Thumps,

In a perfect world a Rainbow re-union tour, a Heaven and Hell album and then back to solo work, but...
Cozy's death sadly means a Rainbow thing will never be possible and probably wouldn't be right or fair for whoever sat at the drums.
Why can't time travel be invented so all three could happen?
My vote would be for the Rainbow re-union (just) |

I'm being controversial again but its a worthwhile QUESTION..lets see what comes out on top...be honest with your answer..
IN 2007 WHAT WOULD YOU HONESTLY PREFER..?
1. RAINBOW RE-UNION TOUR
2. HEAVEN AND HELL TOUR ( with 2 new tracks)
3. DIO..NEW ALBUM AND TOUR
Only ONE CHOICE PLEASE |
I hope I will come to eat my words, but for now Rainbow...
If Heaven & hell changes my mind I will BE very happy |

No doubt about that at all, but that was in the 70's. What I was trying to say is that there wasn't anything out by the same lineup much later, so we'll never know what they would have done had they re-united in the 80's or 90's. Dehumanizer was 12 years after Heaven And Hell and it wasn't H&H II at all but totally different, it had a lot of novelty in it. Now it's 14 years after Dehumanizer and we have the same lineup doing new songs again.

I have an Idea:
Ronnie is doing a Black Sabbath reunion now, after that he goes back to the band DIO again.
And Joe Lynn Turner goes to reunite with Ritchie Blackmore as RAINBOW!
Then you can enjoy DIO and Rainbow at the same time! You can buy new DIO albums and new Rainbow albums! Good idea, right? _________________ You're Breathless, ready to burn

Are you completely out of your mind? Ronnie James Dio is the indisputable Voice of Rainbow. It’s absolutely outrageous that he and Ritchie haven’t worked together since the Man in Black disbanded Deep Purple in disgust over the Silent Screamer’s erratic performances. If Ritchie ever resurrected Rainbow with the Repulsive Runt then we’ll find him a new Hanging Tree!!! _________________ The Legendary Remorseless Crusader Almighty
