Well, I use to listen classic Heavy Metal like Judas Priest, DIO, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, W.A.S.P., Deep Purple (also if Deep Purple are heavy rock, between hard rock and heavy metal), Dokken, Saxon, Iron Maiden, and so on...

Magic!

...Heavy Traditional...I guess, if ya gotta label it...I would choose Rock & Roll... Cool Laughing ...but anything that "progresses" with it's roots planted firmly in this category is worth taking a listen I suppose... Wink

I voted heavy/traditional metal, but I also listen a lot to Dream Theater, which is prog metal. Iron Maiden's AMOLAD is also pretty progressive.

I think...everybody has the same sort of opinion regarding Dance of Death...I do like it....but maybe just a little over cooked in the studio Idea

I think Dance Of Death is a very good album, wasn't disapointed at all! Only with wildest dreams.

I pretty much live on RJD now and have been for a while. I bought a bunch of cd's and will get them all. His voice is like being wrapped in a warm blanket for me, so his music is my escape and comfort a lot of the time.

Besides rock, my fav's are (Don't gag or grab a bag)

Janis Joplin!!!!!!
Gordon Lightfoot
Neil Young
mushy Neil Diamond
Joni Mitchell
John Denver
Hootie and the Blowfish-mushy stuff
Stones

okay, am I still welcome here??

There's nothing wrong with Neil Diamond. Superb singer/songwriter.

Man, It took me forever to find this again. Well, anyway, I would have to say my favorite metal sub-genre is Heavy/Traditional Metal, but I also enjoy thrash/speed metal, power metal, progressive metal, etc. I am trying to get into other genres though.

Lately I've been listening to lot of more obscure bands in the Doom Metal jenre.

There is actually lot of very good bands that falls in this category: Reverend Bizarre, Trouble, Pentagram, Pagan Altar and others....
