I must agree, Shame on the night is by far my favorite DIO song.

Its viceral in its delivery and evry time i hear it i think if ronnie on a pulpit preaching to the masses.

and viv's solo is blistering.

Shame on the Night is amazing. I love to sing to it really loud.

But I have to add, from the HD album, Invisible. Especially if you had a shitty chilhood, at least for me that song hits home....plus it rocks.

I just babbled about a few lesser-mentioned tunes on the Dio's Gems thread, but just remembered another overlooked song, Why Are They Watching Me? from LUTW. Great, heavy song with a top chorus. Paranoid rock at its finest! Smile

"One Foot In The Grave"

This song sounds HUGE! Ronnie sounds angry, and the song is recorded extremely hot. It nealy sounds live. The song pumps me up with the best of Dio's output.

I'll say Sunset Superman. I dunno why it's not a top song, it has a neat keyboard intro, great rif, original lyrics, title, good chorus, solo and outro yet it's not really a big song.

I would probably have to say "The Eyes" off Master of the Moon. It's just such a solid song, and one that shows that Dio's still got it. Even though the riffing is a bit repetitive, just the overall atmosphere of the song more than makes up for it. Just a really solid song Very Happy

If in terms of amongst DIO fans, I reckon it's a lot of Killing the Dragon stuff- paticularly the songs on the back of the album that I don't hear mentioned a great deal.

If in terms of global commercialism, then probably everything- DIO as a band is really underrated overall

You have a very good point there. Every time I hear mention of "old-school" Metal, it's usually of Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. Two bands I rarely hear anything about any more (besides from the "older" generations) are King Diamond and Dio.
