I haven't heard much, but I will say they're extremely over-rated. I'm sick of seeing their shirts and logos everywhere. The same thing goes for Pink Floyd and AC/DC. Yes they're all really good bands, but I know so many people who make them out to be gods, and other people who wear the shirts just so they can say they like classic rock/metal.
I guess I can say I like them, just I don't. |
Maybe you haven't been exposed to the stuff that isn't over-rated. I only like the stuff you never hear. I agree, the shit they play over and over and over, I can't stand. But there is some really, really good music from them out there. _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

Sometimes I hate Zeppelin, sometimes I like them.
I think the problem for this generation is that Zeppelin simply aren't that special anymore. Think about it this way. There are better guitarists than Jimmy Page (or, simply ones we prefer - to me he's nothing special, not because of ability, just not too keen really), Robert Plant's voice irritates me and there are better singers, there are bands who do rock/hard rock far better than they did, there are bands who do folk far better than they did - see where I'm going with this? I think the hype which was more justified back then has lasted, but now the product doesn't live up to it, compared with what has come since, if you get me.
I have the second and fourth albums. Nothing on them blows me away. I do like some of the stuff though, and I don't care what anyone says, Stairway To Heaven IS a good song! _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

I as well enjoy the lesser played songs "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" would be on top of that list, love the acoustic parts a lot. But, with that I must also say that Zepplin has taken a lot of their music from Blues artists from earlier times. Sometimes credited, sometiems not.
If you guys want a breakdown of this, PM me and I'll send a link. _________________

What do you think about the cover by W.A.S.P. of "When The Levee Breaks" (original version by Led Zeppelin)?
I think they play it very very very well!!!!
Let me know,
Magic!
