|
|
According to a posting on Spain's MariskalRock.com web
site, Ronnie James Dio revealed during an appearance
at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour event in London
Monday night (Nov. 6) that HEAVEN AND HELL — the new
band featuring Dio alongside original BLACK SABBATH
members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward — will
headline next year's Download festival, set to take
place in June 2007 at Donington Park, Leicestershire,
England. The group, named after the first post-Ozzy
Osbourne SABBATH album, is expected to announce many
other festival appearances during 2007.
Ronnie James Dio recently spent time in the U.K.
"kicking around ideas" with Tony Iommi for a couple of
new tracks to be included on SABBATH's forthcoming box
set, "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years". In addition,
according to Ozzy, a BLACK SABBATH tour with Osbourne,
Iommi, Butler and Ward will kick off late 2007 to
coincide with the group's first new studio album
featuring that lineup since 1978's "Never Say Die!"
Dio was honored with the "Metal Guru" award at the
Classic Rock Roll of Honour event, which was organized
by Classic Rock magazine. _________________ Calcitra Clunis |

Well being as Download is a poor mans 'Metal' festival, that makes it pretty low. |

According to Metal Hammer, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, TOOL, HEAVEN AND HELL and MACHINE HEAD are among the artists that are rumored to be in talks to play this year's Download festival, set to take place June 8-10 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, England. Tickets for the event should go on sale next month.

I highly doubt Sharron would have any other form of Black Sabbath at Ozzfest, and after what she said about there being only one BS, I doubt Ronnie would even concider it.
I hope if they do play the US, the play in a forum setting, not a festival. However, there aren't a lot of rock festivals over here.
woops, was that off topic Holy one?? _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

MoR was the staple rock festival during the 80s, even better than Reading!!!
That MoR is now staged at Milton Keynes is a travesty.
"Download Festival"??? Sounds like some sort of geeky get together...................

| Anyone know the lastest news on this? Heaven and Hell aren't shown on the Download website. Also will Heaven and Hell be going on there own tour in the UK this year? I'd dam like to see em, espeically if Megadeth and Down are supporting them. |

I watched the "highlights" of last years Download Festival the week before last on C4.
What a load of bollocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never heard so many crap bands in my life!!!! ANd that includes G'n'R...............
As for some of the antics of the crowd!!! Just walking/running around in a big circle??? What's that all about???? Christ, we used to do that at playschool!!! It was called "Ring-A-Ring-A-Roses"....................
