I was just listening to Shotgun Boogie and I really wanted to share my feelings about Elf here...At first when I heard Elf (and anything before) I was shocked! It didn't sound like any of Ronnie's other music...but like a lot of bands (Deep Purple, later Rainbow, Ozzy) it grew on me and I really like it and have all the Elf albums (and an old Electric Elf single )...What's everyone's comments on Elf and before?? |

| I am not a big fan of Elf. The music was weak. |

| Elf was a great band, different to what Ronnie did later, but I like the Elf stuff a lot. |

I never heard Elf either until a couple of weeks ago when 9 CD's showed up from Amazon.com...Dio the Elf Years being one of them...I have a LOT of Dio catching up to do. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE Carolina County Ball. The song "Happy" is like butter . His voice is so smooth it makes me melt. I am waiting for the first Elf CD, which is on it's way.
So I guess you can say that I really love Elf. It's very different, but it's RJD singing so it has to be good... . _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

I know what it means...I love the music style of Elf...and I feel sorta dissapointed that it had to end after 3 albums...Well the first Rainbow album had some remenents of Elf left...that's why it's my favorite...but still after that...Elf was gone...
I really hope there is an Elf reuntion... |

I accidently found Elf music in Internet, downloaded it - it was something unusual. I knew that Ronnie has great voice, but I couldn't imajine he sang SO already in those times, in the beginning of the 70th. Never More from the "Elf" album - my God, it blowed my head apart! _________________ I'll carry on to do it right, or... get out! (c) Cozy Powell

I'd love to see an Elf reunion sometime...Various interviews said these people would be involved...
Vocals; Ronnie James Dio
Guitar; Dave “Rock” Feinstein
Bass; Joey DeMaio
Drums; Simon Wright
Keyboards; Micky Lee Soule
(Perisonally I don't know why they don't get Mark Nauseef for Drums and Craig Gruber for Bass...or have the not forgiven Ronnie for letting Ritchie firing them in Rainbow) They ARE alive you know... |

I have a lot of new CD's including Dio and Rainbow, but have only been listening to Elf lately. I LOVE CCB. The way he sings is so cool. I would have to that I think "Happy" should have been a major hit because it has everything to be one and the way he sings "the cat rolled out of the bag" gets me every time. The problem with that song is that it drags on way too much, so I just love it till the end then change it.
But I agree RL, I would for them to do a reunion, but I doubt it would happen. What about Dio doing some Elf songs? I would freak to hear him sing "happy" now because I love how his voice sounds now too. I'm sure Scott could handle the piano part. What do you think? _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |
