I'm almost positive a link was posted here sometime ago, and Ronnie was talking about singers who he feels can't cut it anymore. I can't recall waht was said in particular, but I remember seeing it, and being quite surprised at the time, because I'd not seen Ronnie speak negatively about anyone before.

I've said it many times in many places... I just listen to the music... I don't care too much about the behind-the-scenes drama... Although I do admit I was quite annoyed about the Daisley/Kerslake rip-off... No musician should allow that to happen to a fellow musician, especially when those albums made Ozzy's solo career...

Having said that... I love Ozzy... and I can't recall ever hearing an album of his that I didn't like... I always have felt that I've gotten my money's worth with his work... Even his weaker albums give you a lot of bang for your buck...

I'll be there for his next one, too...

Cheers...
Steve

because you can't remember what ronnie supposedly said suggests it was nothing really, saying in his opinion a singer can't cut it anymore is hardly evil words is it..!!...its just an opinion...now referring to someone AS THAT 'POISON DWARF' and 'BRUCE DICKINSON HAS SINGING LESSONS OFF RONNIE JAMES DIO IN RETURN FOR SUCKING HIS C*CK' is different.

Yeah, or writing "Dio didn't want to participate in the Reunion concert -> carreer suicide" in an OFFICIAL CD Booklet (Live and loud: Special edition with Ozzy tattoos Razz). Sorry that's just cheap.

Well I have to tell you about a nightmare I did one night.

I was dreaming that I was in an Ozzy concert and suddenly,he took a big blowtorch and said "I'm gonna give you some heat".

I couldn't believe that he would really use it...I was just in front of him and then he pushed the button, burning my face!!!!A guy helped me and....I wake up.

I will never say again that Ozzy was hot in live. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I never said I can't remember - I said I can't recall exactly. therefore I didn't put what I think it said in case I'm misquoting. What I think I read was a resonably detailed description of when a singer can't cut it anymore, with a number of Ozzy comparisons.

As far as I remember, those comments you posted were from Mrs. Osbourne, not Ozzy, so not related to this point, and so I won't comment Smile

Oh speaking of Ozzy, I was moving a bunch of stuff around and found all my old tapes!
There were; Blizzard of Ozz
Speak of the Devil
(Iron Maiden's) Number of the Beast
and my Sacred Heart and Holy Diver!
I remember being like 13 and listening to those on my giant tape walkman! I stuck them in my alarm cloc (yes there's a tape thing in there) and rocked out to some Ozzy! I've bashed Ozzy in the past but to tell the honest God's truth...the song Paranoid got me into music...I know...I commited a huge crime and a pattywagon is now racing to my door.

See that is the problem. You saying it is a huge crime because you mention paranoid got you into the music. Why do we need these Ozzy vs Dio comparisons in the first place? Because it is not simply well Ozzy got me into metal while Ronnie did not.

I do like a lot of Ozzy's music but I am not a fool to know it is not simply Sharon Ozbourne. Ozzy sycophants keep chanting that mantra. It was Sharon Arden who introduced Tony to Ronnie. It was all Ozzy in the choice to bite the dove and bite the bat. It was all Ozzy in choice to pee on what San Antonio considered a shrine. Why do people want to continue to paint Ozzy as some fun lovable guy who never does anyone else harm, why that is only Sharon. I am not delusional not to believe that Ronnie can never be an ass himself so why does Ozzy get a break all the time? I mean come on, my grandfather played aloof with my grandmother but he knew damn well what was going on.

Perhaps this is why people mention that he did not write the lyrics etc. Perhaps that is why people pipe up about his performance onstage which again after reading concert reviews of 80-81 are saying the same thing many of us say about him now.

If people want Ozzy to get an A for showmanship/image then fine but lets move off this every now and then not really needed Ozzy vs Dio comparisons.

Exactly - the comparisons aren't needed. I just wanted a topic to chat about Ozzy. that's all. Why does everythng have to degenerate into this all the time. *sigh*

OK

Diary Of A Madman - my personal favourite Ozzy album and song.
First Ozzy song I heard was Bark At The Moon. First albums were Down To Earth and Live And Loud. I have yet to see him in concert.

Anyone going to join me in this?

He was never the best vocalist, nor a good singer in any way.
(The best about Sabbath was the melodies and the lyrics, the best a bout him going solo is Zakk Wylde.)

Biting the head of a bat must be the cutest thing he's ever done.

you said in your original post that you were sick of the 'ozzy bashing' on this forum.....DIO fans are just replying to that comment and giving reasons. If you did not want the thread to turn into this then don't mention the so called ozzy bashing......there is bad feeling in certain quarters between DIO fans and OZZY fans.....you'll always get a reaction to a comment like yours....if you go on the ozzy forums you'll find plenty of DIO bashing..!!

Personnally,I like Ozzy since my childhood and I don't care about what others can say.Even if he's tired now,he should be respected as a great, wonderful artist.
