W.A.S.P. regrets to announce the postponement of the upcoming European festivals in July. While doing a routine physical, singer Blackie Lawless was diagnosed with an abnormality in one of the arteries leading to his heart [W.A.S.P.'s management stresses that Blackie **DID NOT** suffer a heart attack, as was erroneously reported on several Turkish web sites — Ed.]. Doctors have advised Blackie to not travel for the next 30 days to avoid complications from the medications prescribed to him. Blackie is doing fine and has had no physical damage in any way, but the postponement of the upcoming shows is very necessary to avoid any possible complications. Blackie wishes to thank all those who are concerned for him and cannot wait for the word tour that begins later this year. In his own words, Blackie says, 'I have been extremely lucky to be able to avoid a problem that could have been potentially life threatening years down the road if I hadn't been fortunate enough to be diagnosed early. Thanks to that I have avoided a potential serious problem!" The doctors say Blackie will be good as new in just a few weeks!!
W.A.S.P. recently returned to the studio and begun recording new material for their next release, tentatively due September 2006.
W.A.S.P. are continuing to promote their latest album, "The Neon God Part 2: The Demise", available now via Sanctuary Records' Metal-Is imprint.

| You're meaning to tell me that topics that are 2 months old are ok to post in? Thread Necromancy! Right on! I never saw this and never knew. Well, I'm another W.A.S.P. Fan here. Under rated band, highly under rated. |

I was at the W.A.S.P. concert last night.
The setlist contains "L.O.V.E. Machine", "Wild Child", "The Idol", "Sleeping In The Fire", "Headless Children", "Chainsaw Charlie", "Blind In Texas", "On Your Knees", "Hate To Love Me" and a new song called "Mercy" from the new album.
I can say that Mercy is not a bad song, although I expected better from Blackie.
The concerts are very short, approximately 65 - 75 minutes, but Blackie and the bass player are mind-blowing! _________________ Just a Rainbow in the Da-a-a-a-rk...! |

What album would you say 'Mercy' would fit in with most? Or is it a completely different sound for him? Thanks for the update. _________________ Sit on it, Potsie. |

I just hope Blackie is done with all this Neon God/Crimson Idol concept album shit. There are some good songs on those releases, but they're too pretentious. I hope he just does an album of songs that rock, without the heavy handed story lines and mellow acoustic passages.
More songs like Ballcrusher and Mean Man, please! |

...I couldn't DISAGREE with you more Agent...The songs & storys that Blackie Lawless gave us on the albums you mentioned were Heavy as Hell yet Straight from his "own" head & heart... ...with very deep & interesting concept...the Mean Man stuff is great at a concert & some more songs like that mixed in for good measure would be great...But I like to hear what an artist is really thinking... ...I would like to hear some really heavy concept art from Ronnie... ...As if he weren't already the master of this... ...I just think he should "point" it at something/someone... |

I can answer your question by explaining how Mercy was, because I'm not that big fan of WASP to answer it the way you want.. sorry
Mid-tempo song with some good guitar lines and slow vocals, but I couldn't understand the lyrics well.
I hope this is sufficient for you Bildo _________________ Just a Rainbow in the Da-a-a-a-rk...! |
