Do you honestly believe that is his greatest album?

I was gonna vote for Intermission, but it wasn't available. Wink

I think its indisputable that Holy Diver is his greatest solo album. I understand people might have different albums that are their favorite, but all the evidence supports HD being his greatest accomplishment (as a solo artist, at least).

Yeah I do...when you think how creative he has been through what say 30 years now...and still he can be inspired to write Magica, which is new and original...and still Ronnie James Dio manages to find parts of his imagination that are for me ingenious,
I think he is at his best when he is being inventive in words and songs.

Ps: Dio's only songs to ever be on the billboards 'Modern Rock chart" are: Mystery (Last in Line) Hungry for Heaven and Rock and Roll Children (Sacred Heart) amazing eh.

Heres the Link for the billboard chart:

As a whole album I will have to go with Magica. It rocks hard! Twisted Evil

But looking at each number individually, it would be The Last in Line.

Its a hard choice becoz Holy Diver and Last in Line are so good every track...but everytime I listen to Magica....I find something new....Magica is a work of art...and I am never get bored listening to it.

Very well said HM Cool

Magica is amazing. It is by far the best album I have ever owned. This is the album I would keep, if I was forced to give away my music collection. (Hopefully that will never happen Twisted Evil)

It's heavy..... It's fast and has phenomenal guitar work. Magica really draws you into another world.... (Otherworld Twisted Evil) hehe Laughing Very Happy

Watching Craig play Otherworld followed by his own solo at the Magica tour is a moment i will never forget. I still get the chills when i hear it Twisted Evil

These polls are always so difficult for me. I have to go with Holy Diver/Last in Line. I mention them together cuz they were released so close that it might as well be a double album... in my opinion. After those two I have to say Magica. I notice alot of us are on the same page here. Cool.

Remember how I mentioned that 2 of the 4 songs DIO ever had on the BIllboard Rock Chart were from the Sacred Heart Album... Well, I just found out that DIO's highest peak on the Billboard 200 Album chart was number 29... with the album SACRED HEART!!! It actually charted better than Holy Diver, and till this day has sold around 2 million coppies! Wink Wink

(NOTE: I Know record sales don't make an album better, but im really happy to see more people own Sacred Heart than almost any other Dio Album, with the exception of Holy Diver and Last in Line
Heres the link to the billboard chart:
