Yeah I did....She's a lovely lady....and this is a great cd...
Hell...you know...I am always pushing European Metal,
But this cd....needs as massive push from record company...
A video really is need....even just a performance video
I wish they record would take the gamble and invest more money into them...It would be a crime for this cd to sit in the shops...needs to be in folks cd players |

San Diego, CA power metal band BENEDICTUM, featuring vocalist extraordinaire Veronica Freeman guitarist Pete Wells, drummer Blackie Sanchez, keyboardist Chris Morgan, and bassist Jesse Wright, have been nominated in the "Best Hard Rock" category at this year's San Diego Music Awards. Other "Hard Rock" nominees this year are CATTLE DECAPITATION, DIVIDED BY ZERO, MEDIA LAB, MOWER and UNDERMINDED. Awards will be handed out on September 18 at Viejas Concerts in the Park with scheduled live performances by P.O.D. and SWITCHFOOT, among others. Balloting is now underway and votes can be cast online through August 31 at this location.

On the live front, BENEDICTUM have been confirmed for two more festivals following the band's earlier appearances at the Gods of Metal in Italy and Metalway in Gernika and Jerez, Spain. The band will make their L.A. live debut on August 27 at Power Prog West alongside NEVERMORE, AGENT STEEL, ZERO HOUR and CAGE before heading south of the border for the third installent of the Monterrey Metal Fest, headlined by SLAYER and STRYPER under the "Hell and Heaven United" banner. BENEDICTUM will be sharing the second stage with BLUDGEON, HYDROGYN, DREAMS OF DAMNATION and others. "We had a blast over in Europe at the Gods of Metal and Metalway last month and we are looking forward to playing L.A. and Mexico and finally get in front of all the metalheads closer to home," said Freeman. "We've been working on some new music over the last few months so we might even live preview a tune or two at these shows before we head back into the studio later this year to record our second album."
BENEDICTUM's highly acclaimed Locomotive Music debut, "Uncreation", was produced by Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, DIO, FOREIGNER) and features guest appearances by DIO axeman Craig Goldy on the nine-minute epic "Valkyrie Rising" and bass legend Jimmy Bain (DIO, RAINBOW, WORLD WAR III) on the band's cover of the BLACK SABBATH classic "The Mob Rules". Three songs off "Uncreation" can currently be heard on www.myspace.com/benedictum. |

MONTEREY UPDATE
WE have just recieved this from the desk of Benjamin Niebla II on the Monterey Metal Festival.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Due to SLAYER cancelling their appearance at the 2006 Monterrey Metal Fest which was scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2006 due to them not wanting to share the stage with STRYPER, the festival promoter has decided to postpone the festival until November 2006.
We are looking at Saturday, November 18, 2006, as the new festival date.
The Main Stage line-up for the postponed festival date will be announced shortly.
All 2nd Stage bands are still confirmed for the festival and additional information will be provided in the coming days.
So there ya have it. YOu can visit the official MMF site by going to

Cheers for those links HM!
They are definitely a great band both live and in the studio based on what I have heard. The band as a whole sound tight with an awsomely powerful talented vocalist in Veronica Freeman, who for some reason makes me think of Tony Martin in places. She is definitely my favourite female vocalist and the fact that the rest of the band sound as good as she does is the cherry on top!
I'm a big fan of cover versions if they are done out of and with respect to the original and the covers here are excellent, with Mob Rules slightly edging it for me.
Anyway I'll reserve further judgement until I get their album on monday hopefully but they sound like many bands including Dio which I discover completely by accident and end up loving! |
