I too absolutely love this seemingly overlooked song. In fact it is currently my favorite dio song. |

Not sure, but think, One More For The Road, and some others from MOTM. Most underated, i don't get it. One More For The Road is best and the same time fastest song from MOTM. That song really rocks! Dio should have done video that song. =) _________________ "I'll turn away and never face the sun

Run with the Wolf, seems to be one of the great "Forgotten" songs.
I LOVE that song, best track on a truly great Album IMHO

I think that MOTM is underrated generally. Great opening song, then The Man Who Would Be King, Shivers (great stuff really, is it ever played live???), etc.
From 1990's: Hollywood Black, Give Her The Gun, Hunter Of The Heart, Black...
Ronnie definitely should give these songs a bigger recognition by putting them in the live set. |

| ...one that comes to mind after listening to Strange Highways again this morning is "Give her the GUN"...Man...Ronnie sang his ass off on this one!!!...secondly, I think that the whole LUTW album is way overlooked...this album really showcased Ronnie's voice at his best I believe! |

You got that right, Bobby! "Give Her The Gun" gives me the chills. One of my fave Dio tunes. The combination of sweetly-sung verse, followed by full blown angry chorus is like a 1-2 punch to the gut and groin simultaneously. WAY better than Aerosmith's "Janie's Got A Gun".
And yeah, LUTW has some of the best vocals of his output. "Wild One" is rippin'!
I also think "The Eyes" (MOTM) is a scary good tune. Slow, sludge-like rythms really draw you in. And he portrays a man full of paranoia.
I really like Ronnie's mature singing voice and feel it is not a problem, but a plus. Maybe he doesn't hit the high notes like he used to, but he has a richer, fuller tone that implies "wisdom"....like he's done and seen it all. And an artist's job is to bring that to his craft, and Dio does that masterfully. |

| For the past week I've been having problems with getting Sunset Superman out of my head. It's a really cool song, with simple but great chorus. WOW! In fact the DREAM EVIL album rocks harder than I thought. |

| Falling Off The Edge Of The World WITHOUT A DOUBT. This is not only Ronnie's most underated song, but Sabbath's most underated song. I think it's one of Ronnie's top ten. The song is perfect, an absolute gem. |

..."Lonely is the Word" is one of my ALLTIME favorites...I dont hear to many people acknowledge this particular song though... ...the same with "Country Girl"...I Love this song...I happened to have married one...& she really is like morning sunshine...So I dont understand what may have inspired Ronnie to warn against falling in love with one... ...I'd like to hear his story on this!...at any rate...I really wish Ronnie would include these two songs on his setlist the next time he comes to Cleveland!... |

Yeah I dig that tune too 66. What word is he actually talking about though? It's not an anti Bible thing is it? It kinda ends on a depressing note, uh?
"Lonely is the name, maybe life's a losing game....."
Slippin' Away is nice. A little more upbeat and groovy. Just slip away, no worries, just let go, let Jah take you away.... |
