It's a great hard rock album. It's what Dio does! Has Dioever really made a "BAD" album? No, this is NOT a bad album, though it may not be his best. if you like Dio, there is no such thing as a bad album. Dont get the mind set that all of his albums must compete with Holy Diver. Every album is different and must be celebrated for this fact. Would you have him make the same album over and over like some radio star? _________________ Luke Offield

| This album has grown on me, at first the only two tracks I liked were Hunter of the Heart, and Double Monday but Golden Rules, Big Sister, and some others have really made me change my mind about the album...not his best and toward the bottom of his pile of music, but it's an ok album I'd get it. |

I'll agree with this comment. I wasn't too keen on this album. One of my least favorites but some of the songs have become more interesting to me. I've always liked "Don't Tell The Kids". In an interview, Ronnie Said of guitarist, Tracy G that he did what he had to work with. He just wasn't Dio material and the album was all over the place. Just no structure. In the end, though I'd say buy it because there really isn't a bad DIO song. Heck, Ronnie could sing "You light up my life" and make it sound awesome!! |

Interesting, just because you like someone does not mean you have to like all there work. I love Ronnie, but hate angry machines, it is not Ronnies most inspiring work, and Ronnie has said on countless occasions that he does not like the album at all, recently here in the uk he said it was crap..!! ..fortunately this is rare..but EVERY ARTIST has had a bad one somewhere along the line..

I hated it when it came out but over time it has grown on me more. There are some good tracks there, its just not classic Dio, but worth getting to complete the collection. _________________ "Slver linings can disappear but they always shine... |

Tracy G accompanied me to Tower Recods in LA to purchase my copy back in 2001. We listened to it together and if some claim RJD didnt like how it turned out, well then he's not alone! Tracy mention at his Official Discussion Forum that those were some both interesting and "angry" times for Dio. Perhaps the title fits better than anyone knew??
There's an Unofficial Angry Machines remastr floating around, compliments of Scot Clayton and SMC Productions, one that really impressed Tracy G. I'm still waiting to hear it because considering IMO Angry Machines is "technically lacking," anything done to make it sound better has to be a major improvement.

I have a copy of an interview where Ronnie states that angry machines 'is the biggest regret of his career' and another where he says 'it is crap'..
