After hearing Rudy Sarzo say on the "Holy Diver Live" DVD (interviews) that the band DOES read this forum and check out what fans want to hear, it might be cool to see and check what you'd wanna hear... They included "I" on the current tour because Simon wanted to play it so badly. GOOD CHOICE!
Just a couple of choices here I think would be really cool, but feel free to reply and add your own options!
My own favourite would be "Country Girl" for nostalgic reasons. Laughing

Yeah, if he did that as an opener EVERYBODY would go mad!

I was surprised how many people reacted fanatically on "I"! Even the non-diehard DIO fans! And I (I, I, I) didn't even know that song too well!

Of those, I'd go with Country Girl. Wishing Well a close second.

But truthfully, I wish he'd add more of his solo material to the set, not more Sabbath/Rainbow songs that his band can't do justice to.

Yeah, I want to hear more from DIO than Rainbow or Black Sabbath material...

Songs from Sacred Heart, Dream Evil, Lock up the Wolves, Strange Highways, Magica, Master of the Moon and Killing the Dragon!

Ronnie, please play some more of these albums next tour! When you come to Amsterdam in september.

I would definitely like to hear the following songs that have not been played live for me yet (well, only four shows for me thus far...)

16th Century Greensleeves
Starstruck
A Light In The Black
L.A. Connection
Kill The King
The Shed (Subtle)
Lady Evil
Die Young
Lonely Is The Word
Turn Up The Night
Mob Rules
Country Girl
Falling Off The Edge Of The World
Eat Your Heart Out
Sacred Heart
Rock 'n' Roll Children
Hungry For Heaven
Night People
Dream Evil
I Could Have Been A Dreamer
Faces In The Window
Born On The Sun
Between Two Hearts
Lock Up the Wolves
Why Are They Watching Me
My Eyes
Strange Highways
Hollywood Black
Computer God
After All (The Dead)
Letters From Earth
Time Machine
Sins Of The Father
Too Late
Buried Alive
Lord Of The Last Day
Push
Guilty
Master Of The Moon
In Dreams

...and so on! Too many damned great songs to choose from! Hopefully I'll have the pleasure of enjoying some of these masterpieces live someday...

Hey agentalbert! "not more Sabbath/Rainbow songs that his band can't do justice to."

I think DIO has the most powerful, hard-hitting and faithful band thus far. True professionals that CAN DO JUSTICE to the Rainbow and Sabbath days. What other band is delivering these wonderful songs nowadays besides DIO? Not a single one except for some cover bands that are not accounted for. These songs "sound right" only when DIO is singing them and he's doing it more than good with his own pro band.

The band did a fantastic job delivering the Rainbow classic "Tarot Woman", even the keyboard sections were executed in the most faithful fashion. I just loved it! Not to mention the current overpowerful live version of the majestic "Gates Of Babylon"...

When Mr. Tony Iommi stood in the side of the stage as a special guest during the DVD show in London, I bet that his knees were at least a bit shaky when Doug Aldrich unleashed Heaven And Hell...And I think Mr. Tony Iommi would have definitely appreciated the show back in Jyväskylä (Dec. 9th 2005) as well, that was the best of my three DIO shows thus far...

Somehow I think that Craig Goldy is fire but Doug Aldrich is an explosion! I've been to DIO shows three times thus far and I've experienced the performance of these both equally awesome guitarists and I sincerely think that Doug is the slightly superior one. Well, that's just me. Whether the guitarist was Craig or Doug, the current line-up is the ultimate best for DIO. I can imagine only ONE band that can be raised onto the same level with the current DIO...the reunited JUDAS PRIEST. Even the allfathers BLACK SABBATH with the almighty riff/lead salvo of Tony Iommi are a sloppy outfit compared to these guys! Not because of Tony Iommi, but because they are performing only the sloppier Ozzy-era songs with the sloppy Ozzy wheezing and croaking...BLACK SABBATH has many supreme heavy metal songs and albums (Headless Cross, Dehumanizer, Tyr...), but they are out of the picture, at least for now. Tony Iommi has done an awesome job with his two solo albums, they are...OK, that's another story and a place! Smile

I too think that DIO does more justice to Rainbow/Sab songs in his current line-up! Hey, more then Blackmore does anyway!!!
He just rips Rainbow/Sab songs and puts them up a notch in my book!
Ofcourse, DIO material is great, but his Rainbow/Sab stuff is classic IMO. And nowadays he's the only one playing it like it should! AND EVEN BETTER! Laughing

Bearing in mind I don't have all the albums yet, I'd like to hear:

Black Swampy Water (it could pass for a Rainbow track I think)
Temple Of The King
Stargazer
Lady Of The Lake
Lonely Is The Word
Over And Over
Sacred Heart
Another Lie
TV Crimes
Buried Alive
Big Sister
Golden Rules
This Is Your Life
Fever Dreams
Otherworld
Shivers

Note: I've chosen tracks which don't appear to get played as often, if at all.

All the songs are great, so it is difficult to choose.. It is not on this list, but I would love to hear "Lady of the Lake". But if I have to choose one from the list it would be... L.A. Connection.. or Rainbow Eyes.. or Kill the King...... Ah, I want to hear all of them! Very Happy

My friends and I, we wold like to hear the next:

- Stargazer
- Kill The King
- Catch The Rainbow

and my own faves are "The Temple Of The King", "Rainbow Eyes" and "Never More" from Elf first album.

By the way, Ronnie's version of "Dream On" - it's GREAT! No comments.
