Evanescence I think are awful. But that's besides the point. My favourite female fronted bands would be:
Nightwish
Within Temptation
Blondie
Lene Lovich (although strictly speaking not a band) _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

...Artists such as Benatar, Ann & Nancy Wilson are so rare to find...Do you guys know what I mean?...Just like Ronnie...vocalists such as these are gifts from God...they can sing a song without any type of accompaniment from other musicians or Instruments...& still sound beautiful... ...that being said...I know that one of my recent most favorite female singers...allthough she does not sing Metal...would have to be "Alicia Keys"... ...the voice of an Angel my friends!...I wish that she could sing a duet with Ronnie...say for instance, a song such as "This is your life"...America would surely stop everything & recognize this for what it would surely be...the song of a century!...sorry folks, there goes my crazy imagination again... ...this would be so unique & wonderful...that every last close minded twit that has ever tried to "label" the astounding R.J.D. ...would have to get a crobar to remove their foot from their mouths!... |

Good call on Blondie. I shouldn't have forgotten that one.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts are a good live show. |

Bobby66 One of the greatest female singers in my opinion is Katherine Jenkins from a wee place called Wales,
Katherine Jenkins - Music Of The Night[look at the thousands in the crowd at the start]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AaA2QR8tD8&search=Katherine%20Jenkins
Katherine Jenkins - Time To Say Goodbye
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unAJhOI2EFE&search=Katherine%20Jenkins
I bought her ''living the dream'' cd...this woman can sing and on top of that...she is also a bloody amazing nice woman and no diva!
Metal and Opera over here have a connection,
sometimes there is not enough substance for me in some songs and a bigger sound is needed,I know that in some countries, maybe some of you guys are set in your ways...and will not embrace the change in music, which is a shame...becoz all you will do is force bands from America to come to you Europe and Rap will devour North America for good!
The demand for Dio in Europe and South America is huge!and is not a fashion but its constant...the young fans embrace Dio's music not even thinking about it....becoz the songs are so good, they don't question its message...its just metal...and that thinking is with most music over here...so many folks cross over into different genres of music...maybe its becoz we don't like labels on music over here...From Metal to Classical music there is fans from both,
Maybe the record companies in USA should forget about markets and targets and just think about music...and they will find the music will sell itself.Bands like Within Temptation,Nightwish,The Gathering and Lacuna Coil have been around a while now....USA does know how to market these bands...for maxium of dollars.
Lacuna Coil sold over 100,000 copies of the new cd in USA in first weeks...mostly from a whisper!
I am really worried that new bands in USA....will not have space to create or move on...and Rap will be an american thing soon
Anyway Bobby....I found this for you this cd was bought by folks aged 13 to 55!!!
Called ERA and the song title is THE MASS!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6UpAxjO0FM&search=the%20era
Maybe its just a European thing and its in our blood...but you know yourself...from the video...its all things Dio likes and writes about himself. |

| She's been long gone, but I think there aren't many vocalists (male or female) that have the prowess and raw emotion that Janis Joplin had. That girl was over the top, yet could be as sensitive and subtle as a feather. I'm sure she had a huge influence on hard rock/metal vocalists down the line. |

I am gutted that young vocalist Sabine Dünser from Elis has died,
Elis had a bright future and I like many others where waiting for the follow up to the wonderful "Dark Clouds in a Perfect Sky"
Statement from the band,Deeply confused and sad, we have to inform you, that Sabine isn't among us anymore!
While the bands rehearsal on Friday the 7.7.06, Sabine suffered a cerebral haemorrhage on which she died a day later at the hospital!
On regard to the family and friends, we have decided to take the homepage from the net.
We need time now, to decide if and how we approach further and we will not answer any mails at the moment.
Sing with the angels Sabine! We will never forget you!
Chris, Max, Pete, Tom
